WTB: ZOK spacer purches used on GXP shocks
« on: July 22, 2009, 09:33:56 PM »
I know these are throw aways that the dealer is supposed to remove prior to delivery....

But, does anyone have a set of the Z0K perches that are installed at the factory that are used to raise the front end on the line and during transportation?

I am interested in purchasing them.

Thanks.

Kevin

From pictures I have seen, they are simply another extra lower spring perch that is stacked on the lower one.

I don't think dealerships remove them and throw them away, though.  If you're going to find them anywhere, this is the place.  From what I know, though, Bob is right.  Therefore, you should be able to get the perches from anyone that has replaced their shocks and springs with a coilover setup as well (provided they want to give them up)

I just purchased the entire z0k setup for my 2 cars. I have heard the car gets lowered by a max of 1.5 inches and as little as .5 inches.

I dont want to be 1.5 lower.

I have also heard some dealers dont know to remove the purches so I know people are driving on them.
So I was thinking to use those in the event that after the spring change its just too low.

I would be interested in 4 if you find them.

I'll dig around for them. FWIW, dropping the car 1.5" really isn't too bad at all. Except for BIG speed bumps and such things, there really aren't serious issues. Handling is improved as well. Mine is even lower now, and except for the flex section on the exhaust nothing is dragging, and even THAT was corrected somewhat by realigning the exhaust pipe.

Put this in the just curious catagory, but if you didn't want to drop the car why did you buy the Z0K kits, the BC or other coilovers could put you at stock height with better performance.

lil goat,

I want stiffer springs, want to stay gm, lower the car some, but not so much that I get stuck going over speed bumps as this is a daily driver.

Again, I have seen reports that the z0k springs lower the car as little as .5 inches (perfect for what I want) and a max of 1.5 inches (a little too much).

Therefore, the purches may be the trick.....  And to top it off, they are gm parts, instead of me machining them myself.

Cool, I understand. I have the HKS coilovers, didn't have to machine anything. I can adjust my ride height from the ground to even a bit higher than stock, it's easy. But if you want to stay all GM that doesn't help.
