datalogging with HPtuner - How do I?
« on: September 01, 2009, 04:14:15 PM »
I want to datalog, but I do not know how to set up HPtuners program to do it or what parameters to log. My available time with a lap top is limited so I am not able to fart around trying to figure it out. Can anyone give me a quick step by step??? Also how long can you datalog for? if you feel a tweak to the tune is needed, do you just send that log to Westers?

First download this config file http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140752&postcount=14 courtesy of BTF.
Load it into vcm scanner File>open config, if you have the pro version you can upload the config to the hptuners box by going to Scan/mpvi pro datalogging and press write config. Otherwise click on the little play button to start scanning, then when you finished scanning click the stop button and to save goto Scan/save data as.

Nice config file.  I was looking for a good one and this seems to be it.

Dont forget that if you use this config file to scan, then you need to send the Log + Config file to lyndon.
He always asks me to send the config file even though it's the default one.

Config file simple has all the needed parameters for logging, there's are 40 or so in btf's config for our cars.

In 4th you'll be going 120mph, i prefer 3rd from 2000rpm till redline.
