Back up.........brake..............KLUNK!
« on: September 05, 2009, 01:03:14 PM »
When I would back into my garage and  brake, I would hear a "clunk", and it seemed to be coming from the right side, rear.
I finally jacked the back up today, and discovered that there's a T30 torx screw that was loose, causing my right rear rotor to wobble slightly. I tightened the screw, and checked the left (which was tight).
What is the actual purpose of this torx screw? I can't believe it's the only thing holding the rotor tightly against the axel, or am I missing something?
BTW, due to my spirited driving, all of my rear lugnuts were loose.  OOPS! I usually check them regularly, but it had been a while.  So....................Check your nuts !

I will NOT disclose HOW I check MY nuts !!!!!!!!!  ;)

The torx head screw is meant to properly loacte the disc. But the wheel must have been VERY loose to allow the disc to be moving. Oh, and there have been more than a FEW instances of the three bolts that hold the hub to the upright coming loose. CHECK THOSE AS WELL on ALL four corners.
