I think there will be enough of us to throw DDM out of the garage if we team up, I have a 12'X12' pop up but it doesn't fit in the Solstice very well. If it rains we can all pitch in a buy Joe another one, they aren't that expensive at Wally World.

I have a steel one, had it for 20 years very handy tool.
( Jim )  Its easier to use a Plastic popper no matter what color then to use steel and have to touch up Paint scraps on Auto Body parts, and as for a roller Hope yours does have a motor on it

I have panel popers in plastic, but mine are a macho black :)  I also ordered a roller.

What do we need to scrape the old sound deadening from the floor?   Putty blades?
(Critter) Would be nice if someone designed a putty knife that has a heated blade"you still have a week" start with a 9v storage battrey with hot wire on blade and ground lead on behind the handle    :idk:   :worms:

I have both steel and pink plastic, never scratched anything it is a rounded very smooth finished steel, it's a Mac tool, long ago in a galaxy far far away I was an installer of all things automotive and electronic, hard to believe that was 25 years ago.
The people doing installs will have a much easier time of it, I will be doing the back and floors while you guys do your doors, we can use my panels as a template and maybe someone not doing an install (Bobby? Critter?) can cut the panels from the templates ahead of time, first person to do doors can be used as a template too. If we get all of the stuff cut and don't have to stop and measure every piece it will go MUCH faster. I think doing this as a group will work really well for everyone.

An alternative to heat and putty knife that should work very well on the stock deadener is dry ice. Freeze the stuff and give it a whack and it should shatter off cleanly. Could save a lot of time if a few people are planning to remove the asphalt stuff.

LN2 would probably be even faster...

Sounds like that might be a "cool" idea Don, I wasn't going to remove the old only for the time saving, but if there is a quick easy way I am up for it. Joe is there any place near you to get dry ice? I can get it at the grocery store near me. Here is a directory of Dry Vendors in 410 area code MD. http://www.dryicedirectory.com/results.asp How much would we need?

That's a good question and one that I can't answer with any authority. I do know that any place that sells welding gasses and supplies will have dry ice. I can't find any information as to why that's the case other than the dry ice blasting machine.

http://www.nu-age.com/machinesales.htm

It would provide non destructive cleaning of parts before welding.

A few years ago my son had to do a science project for school. He did some research and found the project that he wanted to do and it needed dry ice to work. A Google search at the time indicated that you could get dry ice and anyplace that sold welding gases and supplies. We called a couple local suppliers and they all carried dry ice. When the place that we went to so we could pick it up and they found out it was for a science project, my son got it for free.

Couldn't beat the price.    :D

They sell it in the grocery store here for use in coolers (Shoppers Food), not sure any there do or not.
