New dyno test for my Opel GT on
« on: November 28, 2009, 08:00:35 PM »
Just being happy with this country improving in car tuning, I went to a different dyno test today different than the mustangs.

This is engine power NOT wheels power:
Power: 312 hp at 4938rpm
Torque: 390 lbs-ft (528 Nm) at 3244rom

This was a Dyna VTech 4x4 Dyno and was looking good, I love their air blower which was very powerful (you can see it in the movie), I put my hand in front of it and was pushed like when you get the whole hand out of the window while driving at over 100 mph. On previous mustang dyno it was either no air blower or a small one and I wasn't doing more than 2 runs. This time I was very confortable to do 3 runs, and indeed like you guys said the the first is the weakest.

I remember I spotted graphs while dynoing and it was at the wheels ant highest when I got 312 hp at the engine the value of the wheels was 275hp. Which is 15 whp higher than the result  from the mustang http://kappaperformance.com/forum/index.php?topic=3189.0 but still I consider it very accurate because of the blower and because of lower outside temperature 51-58 F instead of 71 F what was when I did the dyno on Mustang.

They generally present power to the engine but I will ask them to sent me the graphs with power to the wheels, even the difference will be only in value, graphics being same, the dyno graph shows power lost between wheels and engine and it is only 12% (312bhp vs 275 whp) which I consider it too low.

I'm still mad about the graph, I hate the drop after 5000 rpm  :goat:

My calculations are as follows if you are making 275 WHP it equates to 330 BHP.
The power that we loose in our cars is plotted at 16.5%-17% and not 12% like you have posted.
The published GM numbers of 260BHP equates to a 215WHP at the wheels or 17% drive line lost.
Solstice GXP 2007.
Aggressive and fully loaded.
