Fuel Gauge LED
« on: October 20, 2009, 10:22:37 PM »
I guess I must have received some bad LED when I ordered my Gauge faces. Joe installed the gauges and LEDs at the mod meet. They worked fine till I got home. Tuesday nite the fuel gauge lite quit working. Next Mod meet I wll have some new lites and get Joe to install them. OK Joe?

Bummer, Can Randy take it apart to check the solder leads?

... to check the solder leads?
Yeah, that's what it sounds like to me too.  There are two LEDs there and the likelihood of BOTH going is vanishingly small.

He has upgraded LEDs from blackcatcustoms and there is only two wires to solder.

Right, I was agreeing with you.  The original lights are tiny little incandescents with cute little red hats on them :)

The BlackCats are two LEDs on a PCB.  Unlikely that they've both failed - much more likely that the flying leads have an issue.

DDM's Randy fixed the lights. Bad solder. Wire pulled loose.
