Z0K Springs...
« on: November 02, 2009, 11:53:50 PM »
Hello...Would anyone have these springs on their Sol. GXP? How is the ride? Is it to low? How much did the cost?

Thanks!

I've got them and can tell you it was an instant difference. Cornering in the twisty's is now done with complete confidence. As for the ride: It is marginally stiffer, which means that you feel allot more of the road in every bump and jiggle. But I kinda like that. The girlfriend isn't overly thrilled about it, but hey, that's why the steering wheel is in front of me....  ;) It lowered the car by about half an inch, which really isn't very much. The tires never rub. If memory serves me correctly the whole suspension package including installation ran about $2200.

I am considering the Z0K springs. Need to compare the price of them against similar springs from other vendors like Hypercoil.

GM springs will drop right in place. Aftermarket springs may or may not require perches for the top. Some to ask about before buying springs.

Oh so true. The first thing that the mechanic told me when I went to pick up the car was, "There was no problem with this kit. It fit perfect the first time". And when you're paying for the installation by the hour, that's a crucial point.

Is there any drop with the Z0K springs?
here is a comparison shot i took (FE3 front, Z0K front, FE3 rear, Z0K rear):

as far as the drop once on the car, i've heard 1-1.5 inches.  i'll know for sure once i wrench them on this weekend, along with the rest of the Z0K bits.
