New 07 GXP owner in NE Alabama
« on: December 02, 2009, 12:45:20 AM »
Just got my 07 GXP today. Its a new 07, sat on dealers lot since new, had 204 miles on it, lol. Its a yellow exterior/black interior, five speed, monsoon radio, fog lights, chrome rims, AC, steering wheel radio/info buttons, plus more. Its a very nice car with lots of power. I have had over 60 cars/trucks since 1984 and this is one of the best. Took the salesman for a test drive on a curvy mountain road near here, he enjoyed it, lol. Anyone near Northeast Alabama want to go for a drive?

Thanks, I have been looking up stuff on different sites and am trying to learn as much as I can. Hopefully I can afford to do some suspension mods as the money allows.

LOL, not much choice in colors. Its the only GXP in the southeast and as far as I know the US.  I did a search on GXP's on the Pontiac website, nothing around but regular Solstices and 99% were automatics.  Glad I like yellow, but black is my first choice in every car/truck. Just washed it today, first time its been washed since new from what I can tell, the dealer must have never washed it. No dents or scratches in the paint thopugh, but needs a good cleaner wax and polish. The rims are even perfect.

Kelu, if you ever get a chance to try it I think you'd be hooked too. Maybe if you ever make that trip across the pond for a mod meet we can try and get you to a a/x as well.

Autocross is fun and cheap. Probably wont be running in an event until next spring/summer though. A local car club, Twickenham Auto Club, has their own events as well as the local SCCA group. TAC events are set up similar to SCCA and I think use the same classes as SCCA. Have to check and see what class the GXP is when I enter the next event. I have autocrossed a 98 Z28 1LE, 09 Challenger RT, 09 Mustang GT, and the 240SX. The GXP should do the best out of those cars, lol. I did have an 03 S2000 but never entered an event with it before I sold it.
