i know many people have gotten decals from ASAP and have said it was easy. I dunno what vendor I will choose yet. I shall search the forums a bit more.

I want to do something on the hood/trunk as well as the sides. so i was thinking decals would be cheaper. but maybe not. i haven't investigated painting options.

i am having a graphic designer work on designs for me. so we'll see what he comes up with.

Hmmm.  Is it time for one of you creative types to design some Kappa Performance racecar decals?  It appears the time may have come.  When the decals are contemplated, its official:  Kenny's building a track car!

We tried putting a stripe on my car last time, but there can not be any wax or anything on the car.  It would not stick so I ended up having them painted on.  Get them painted...best choice I ever made!!

Spicy....your decal stripes were "girly" pink....are your painted stripes also?

spicy's stripes were on the sides of the car, not the hood

Look at the car to the right of his though.  Much nicer color, eh Gypsy?

I am planning on putting kappa performance on the car. as well as logos of other vendors.

but i am going to do my own versions of the logos, not just slap stickers on the car. i want it to look classy, but give props to the great vendors even if i don't use them on my car.

The decal stripes were going on the side, to match on the hood & they didn't

I do like the color of the car to the right

Yea they didn't match the hood at all, so I had matching ones painted on the side and had them faded out into the black towards the middle of the door.

I will be traveling down from CT hoping to overhaul my car from front to back...

AEM CAI,
DDM Backbone
DDM Probeam
Solo SQR-2 Exhaust
Solo NA CAT
Solo NA Headers

Graphics installed if I can find what I really want and anything else I can buy form the vendors while I am there. The new heated seat mod sounds fun and I would like to install it and help others (electrician by trade) if I could get some mechanical help on my side.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Amazing story on the car, found it on-line at eBay motors from a local family here in CT that just never used it and wanted to get rid of it. A real find! I am glad I happened upon it and bought it.

The drive down is not all that many miles... only about 425 from door to door. It is always an enjoyable trip down the NJ Turnpike in a Sol... LOL!!! I wouldn't miss the meet for the world. I am trying to talk some other New Englanders into coming down that way to meet up and have a weekend out of the cold.

Heated seats are starting to sound better everyday!

Steve, I will be in touch with you shortly to talk about the exhaust. Thanks for the contact info.

Airline Tickets have been purchased!!!!!  Yippeeeeeeeeee!

Here is the itinerary:

Date Flight From To Stops

21-Apr-2010 965 SAN DIEGO, CA (SAN) 05:35 PM SAN FRANCISCO, CA (SFO) 07:10 PM 0
21-Apr-2010 86 SAN FRANCISCO, CA (SFO) 09:40 PM WASHINGTON, DC (IAD) 05:45 AM 0
26-Apr-2010 67 WASHINGTON, DC (IAD) 07:00 AM SAN DIEGO, CA (SAN) 12:25 PM 1

Any chance anyone might be nearby at either of these two times?  If not, what might a taxi cost to get closer to someone?  rent a car?  any thoughts?

Would love to get picked up in a limo if that can be arranged...  Just kidding.  But if I do get picked up in a convert, I will need to know so I can pack accordingly :)  I don't think it will be as big a deal if it is a coupe. :yay:

I know it is still a ways off, but the ticket prices were very resonable (about 250) so I sealed it.

Thanks for the help in advance,

GJ

I'll be there Saturday for sure.  Mod wise, heated seats and Z0K sway bars.  (My GXP front bar already has a new home but my rear bar is up for grabs)  I'm also interested in the DDM tower brace but don't see it listed on their website; has this been released?

I was going to bring a sandwich platter and ice but I see two platters already so let me know if there is anything in particular I should bring.

I look forward to seeing everyone again!

If you don't get a rental car, I would take the Washington Shuttle Bus to Vienna for $10 and then the metro into the Rosslyn station ($2 and no transfers), where I would get a hotel room.  The shuttle may not start until 7AM or so.  From the Rosslyn metro you can go anywhere you want to in Washington, or from Rosslyn go right across the bridge into the Georgetown nightlife for dinner/drinks.  The Virginia side is safer and more affordable to stay in.  I might be able to give you a lift on Friday but I'll be taking the Sky and won't be staying through Sunday.

Then I would stay at a Dulles Airport hotel prior to your return flight due to the hour.

I have decided I will be down all days also. Cleared my calender for the weekend. I will fill in wherever on the menu that is needed and help out in the garage with whatever someone will trust me with. (LOL!!!)

I have decided to try the CAI myself next week once the car gets back from the dealership (minor adjustments and a engine exhaust code). I think I could do the headers and the HIFLO CAT, the exhaust system however, needs a lift and some experience. Not too sure if I want to go around without an exhaust while I try and figure it all out.

Also decided on a WR v2 install and planning on working with ASAP on some striping package.  I was thinking forest green from under the front, across the grills, all the way to the very back under the rear bumper. Just two wide stripes the width of the grills, pretty much a classy look.
