Obtusely I was. But, THAT configurations is news. Who is doing it, what are the internals, and HOW MUCH ?????
shaikh ahmad @ fat cat motorsports - he's well known in the miata community (authorized SM rebuilder, did jerry jenkins' ES rebuild/revalve, among others) but is trying to branch out.  i convinced him to add the solstice to his latest project, after numerous conversations and pleading, which originally began as an NC CS/STR miata/CS/STX RX-8 group buy for those interested in both shock and coilover DA setups.  he's got a shop custom fabbing the pistons from scratch, and has gone through numerous iterations on a custom reservoir that he designed himself.  as far as price, nothing has been set in stone yet.  but his last iteration (SA rebuild/revalve w/o donors) was in the 1500 range, so i'd expect a DA w/ RR to fall into the low-mid 2k range.  whatever the price, it's going to be significantly less than what i would have paid for a comparable penske setup, that's for sure!

Re: Help with suspension options, ZOK Rear Springs
« Reply #27 on: June 03, 2013, 08:55:59 AM »
With most suspension mods and components upgraded to ZOK, F/R ZOK sways, Pro Beam and Brace, the 2008 GXP still tends to Understeer.

I have just added Norms Splitter and have noticed a good improvement in handling yet I would like to know if changing the rear springs to ZOK on the stock Bilsteins will provide any benefits or would it be better to replace them with adjustable coil overs  for the rear?
Enjoying the open ride.

Coilovers. The only reason I have the zok springs (not the good zok) on my car is that I found the whole setup dirt cheap brand new. If I didnt, I would be going with coilovers for the adjustability for better handling and ability to set the height to where I want it as Im not 100% happy with the looks from just the zok springs.

Wow, I forgot about this thread.  Boy have I gone off the reservation from what I was recommended to do here over 3 years ago!

Sbutcher2, I'm not sure how the splitter affected your handling, but that's beside the point.  I don't advise changing only the rear springs to Z0K, as that will drop the rear and leave the front at stock ride height.  If anything, go with coilovers all around or Z0K springs all around.
