Did a video on both types of install tonight.  They are different.

This works on all KAPPAs.  FREEEEEEEEE

(Image removed from quote.)

Cut back insulation going to the side marker to expost the two wires, pull out the black wire and clip it as far away from the side marker as possible. This will give you room for the wire to reach the other harness.

Cut off/remove all the electrical tape going to the plug to expose the 4 wires.  I used a wire stripper on the blue wire to slide the insulation back a tiny bit and stripped the end of the black wire.  I then wrapped the black wire exposed end around the stripped section of the blue wire.  Soldered the joint and tapped everything back up.  It looks factory but has a much better safety feature.

See the difference

This is about as easy of a mod as any gets.

I did this today, looks great. One issue though, the four ways only werk when I hold the button in.  What did I miss or do wrong?  Help me oh great one.

Try it with your lights on and then with your emergency flashers (car off)

Tried both same results.  Cold I have blown the fuse for Hazzards? If so what fuse #?

Seems I have a bad switch (No not in my head).  I undid the mod and it still didn't work. I fiddled with the switch a little and now it works.  Redid the mod and 4 ways work.  Turned them on once and they wouldn't turn back off.

Yea, but then I would have to re-flash the ECM.  I am testing the Superchips tune, so I think I'll wait until  testing's complete.

I wouldn't worry about the ECM. They won't be checking the engine if your Emergency Flasher switch on the steering column is broken.

At least I would HOPE that they wouldn't be!  :D

Had the same problem with the 4 way switch.  Lasted about 6 weeks.  Was getting ready to take to dealer when it started working again.  This was before the mod.
I'm very intelligent, but I mask it by doing stupid stuff.

Mine might have been that way for a while too. I haven't hit the button in a while.  I twisted the switch left and right and depressed it again and it seems to work normally again.   :idk:

Just completed this Mod... Thanks DeepBlueGXP for the very good explanation and pics of how to complete.  I am in total agreement that this is the way the car should have come from the factory.  Now to get into more intrusive mods...

Joe, you finally talked me into doing this one.  Thanks!

I really recommend picking up a box of these from harbor freight...
http://waterforoil.blogspot.com/2008/05/how-to-use-quick-splice-connectors.html

I added loom to the rest of the wiring and wrapped it again to look absolutely stock.  Now I need to fix that halo light.

I dunno what DDM used for the hood light, but they were way too big in my opinion and allow for loose connection/disconnect.  I will be cutting these wires and using my own when I have the time.

I read this thread coz the bumper turn light to parking light (inside the headlight) has become a small obsession… :D
it seems this is one more difference between the Sol-Sky and the GT.

the GT's turn signals (both side and bumper) work independently from the headlights.
they are off ALL the time, unless you press the turn lever or push the alarm button. in these cases both side and bumper turn at the same time (synchronised) and of course turn off automatically when steering wheel gets back to straight or you push the alarm button off.

now i am trying to find a 194 splitter to plug it in the side turn lights and the parking light too.

Looking for this to be my next mod. Good info and I appreciate the wiring diagram. Although the spice connector is fast the soldered connections are my favorite.
Enjoying the open ride.

Does this flash them when the parking lights are off during the day or is it just at night?

It flashes them whenever the blinker is in use, day or night.
