Modding the Solstice Garage
« on: December 29, 2008, 07:53:50 PM »
Ever since I got this cool little car, It's kind of made my garage into more of a dream garage. The mods to the car have been done in a place that has been seeing some mods of it's own. I've been tinkering with my vehicles for a long time, but the garage is slowly becoming a nicer place to hang out. In the two years I've owned this car, I've also got a Lift from Revolution  http://revolutionlift.com/, and floor tiles from RaceDeck  RaceDeck.com.

I am lucky that my garage has a 12 foot ceiling, so I got the Extended height lift, for the Tahoe to fit underneath. The Model of my lift is RFP7XL. I don't know if they still make this one as it is no longer listed on their website. I bought mine from a local dealer for around $4200. I had to modify the garage door a bit to allow more room for it to operate. I extended the rails all the way up to the ceiling, so it doesn't have to travel back into the garage as far. I also replaced the standard center pulling opener with a jackshaft type from Liftmaster.  http://www.liftmaster.com/consumerweb/products/pflResidentialJackshaft.htm that mounts off to the side.

Here are a few pics:

That is SOOOOO sweet. I measured my garage least year for a lift but I was about 3 inches short. I'm so jealous!
Just trying to do my part...

Thanks Guys. I can actually fit 3 cars in my 2 car garage now. Has anyone else been modding their garage? Let's see 'em.

Three cars in a 2 car garage? This is how WE did it. Not a s FANCY as yours is, but this is the 1st time we've done this. The truck is still parked outside. The Olds on the left is parked for the winter, also. We hurried a stuffed them in back in November, but I got them out last week and filled them up, washed them, added StaBil, and put trickle chargers on them for the winter. Cupboards and tools got moved to sides, also, away from Solstice.
My 04 Monte Carlo Intimidator SS is parked on the right, Lucy in front, and Ethyl on the left :)

I'm like critterman we can't even fit 1 car in our garage, too much crap in there.  The lift is quite nice and I'm quite envious.  I think I know the location of the next mod meet.
