Everything is on, and the car is certainly sitting lower. (pictures to follow.)

Everything went smoothly, though the alignment ended up being somewhat time consuming. Car definitely feels stiffer, but thanks to the better shocks isn't bone jarring. We'll see how it does once the streets dry up.

Many thanks to Larry and Ben for the install and help, and to Snaponbob and DBG for providing some technical expertise.

Congrats, can't wait to see what you think. I may be attempting to do this install myself in the next few weeks.

You'll need a good drill press to drill out the bushings and retainers for the beefier piston shafts.  Other than that, simple hand tools, but air tools will make it go quicker.

Alignments always seem to take a while.  Seems like the first cut is never right.  Hope it was worth the wait.

I won't have to do any drilling. The ones I got were from Salstice and were already drilled. I can slap em right in.

I chucked my pieces into a big shop vice and kept a respectful grip on my drill so as not to break a drill bit or wrist !!!!

U238,

Looks like a bit over an inch?  Did you measure before and after for real world changes?  What do you have for clearance beneath the car now?  Lowest point to ground?  (front air dam I would guess?)

Reason I ask is I don't think that would work here in San Diego.  Odd as it may be but there really is no underground storm water drainage system here like most places.  All of our stormwater runs in surface channels, as opposed to underground.  That means nearly every intersection has 2 or 4 concrete water canals (think up side down speed bumps) that will just tear off the bottom of your car if they get the opportunity.  As it is now, FastBetty scrapes along some routes of her normal trips, and getting in the driveway for that matter.

BUT- I love the look.  Yours came out fantastic.  And no change in ride quality?  Improved look, improved handleing, and no worse on your spine.  Great mod.

GJ

The air dam is a hair over an inch off the ground. (!!!!) Definitely wouldn't work well in your area, and things can be sporting here as well. The SHA hasn't even started to think about doing something about these crater-sized potholes that are showing up everywhere...

Oh, and I expect that roadkill is going to be a serious hazard now as well...

Being from West Virginia, I love a good piece of street meat, especially after the crows clean up the bad parts & it cooks to a nice medium rare in the sun.

Back to subject - Looks good on ya! Seriously we have way too much road kill here in VA though for me to consider lowering. I have allready missed one & drove over another BIG pile of hair & bones (deer hammered by someone else) & come accross alot of dead skunks, coons,  possums & foxes during my early in the morning dark commute, I cringe every time I accidentally drive over one & I at minimum hear the front air dam hit.  :barf:  Not to mention they can't seem to make a proper transition between bridges & the road here in VA, there's always a big height difference that throws you all over the place at highway speeds.   :gaah:

Not sure why, but we've had way more roadkill lately than usual. Maybe it has something to do with the winter being harder than normal.

Roads finally dried up, so I was able to have some fun. Definitely feels like braking doesn't upset the car so much. Also, the new setup did wonders for the car's tendency to rear back under heavy acceleration. The nose must dive less under braking as well, a full-on ABS stop from 60 didn't make it scrape.

How's the turn in on corners, and return on unwinding out of them?

In other words, how are you liking the new (hard earned) alignment settings?

I'm finally getting to try his setup out at an autocross school today...and holy cow but does this car feel better! I'm getting lots of complements from instructors and people taking ride alongs on how good the car feels. Many thanks to Larry, Ben and SOB for their help getting this car set.

I think it's 3/4 of a turn in front and 1 1/2 in back. I've got it writtendown at home, I'll look it up when I get back, it's the setting you recomended when we installed them.

Car felt pretty neutral. I saw both understeer and oversteer, though that was when I either entered a corner way too hot or got back on the gas too early. Definitely doesn't plow like it used to.
