GMPP LNF Turbo Upgrade Kit/Tune
« on: February 19, 2010, 04:29:11 PM »
was at the dealer today getting some warranty work done (replaced shifter stick/knob) and loose driver door handle and just for chits and giggles I asked the parts manager
what's the best they could do me on the GMPP LNF Turbo Upgrade Kit installed/flashed, $450 for the kit + 1½ hours labor for a total of $600.

would like to hear from others with this tune? Happy with it, any noticeable gains? I only have about 10k left on my bumper to bumper warranty.
I do like the idea of the 30 extra ponies and the 'no-lift shift'  ... there, I think i just answered my own question

I do have DEJON CAI/IC Pipes, 3" Magnaflow Cat-back system (stock cat), so for the $600 bones  ... I'd be Happy, eh?
would like to go with a Hi-Flow Cat but not sure what type/brand to get ... decisions decisions  :idk:

From what I've heard, that's a good one-stop price from a dealer.   I paid the same, but had to order the part then take it to a dealer.

Can't get a better warranty-retaining increase in performance for the price.

Sorry to revive and old thread but I have a question. I just purchased the GMPP LNF Turbo Upgrade from CED. I would like to tweak my tune after its installed with HP Tuners. Is this possible? I thought I read somewhere that it is harder to tune after GM re-flashes my computer. Does anyone have first hand experience with this?

If you are going to retune it, don't waste you money on the GMPP.

Yup - do one or the other.  Or just buy a tune from Trifecta or other tuners.

We have the GMPP tune on both of our Sols and have been really happy with it. It retains the factory warranty (or extended warranty), you'll know that the tune is "safe," and pick up more HP, more torque, and in our case anyway, significantly better gas mileage. Buy a tune, or do your own tune, but don't bother doing both.

I don't believe any dealers in my area are offering this service anymore. I have a Tech 2 (used to work at Vetronics as a s/w engineer) and am prepared to buy the GMPP parts kit. Can someone give me an idea of how I'll handle the re-flashing? Do I need to buy a 3-day pass to GM-online and run them through my Tech 2?

I did the GMPP tune years ago with HPTuners and the 3 bar sensors. The HPTuners repository used to have pretty much all of the different versions of the GMPP tune (model year, transmission differences) and I was able to get the sensors/connectors for <$100. So, if you can get the tune file and the Tech 2 can upload it, you should be good to go.
