FS:(SOLD) Saying goodbye to a classic
« on: February 26, 2010, 06:40:45 PM »
I didn't intend for it to happen this way, but the Solstice has gotten under my skin & in order to perform the mods I want in this poor economy the Duc has to go.  :(  Can't have everything all the time.

So here it is, maybe someone here would be interested since it is a collector - only about 290 originally commercially imported. No sales pitch since this is a car forum, if someone is interested just shoot me a PM.

An 888 is a VERY serious machine. Nothing, I mean NOTHING, sounds as good as a Duc at up near redline.

It is a classic.  They are not made like this anymore.  My wife does not allow me to ride a two wheeler anymore.   :(

Kelu, did you mean a 900ss ? I'm not familiar with a 600ss. I had one of those too before the 888. Was it like this?

Nice bikes.

My wife doesn't 'let' me ride any more either, although she never kicks up a fuss about racing cars.

I used to have a 1970 Ducati 350 single (non-desmo, unfortunately). Hardly the same thing as your crotch rocket!

Ducati 900SS and 600SS are same bike but with a different engine size. Basically is no difference between those two. I never saw 888, they are pretty rare around here.
Mine is the NUDA version which means it has only half of the plastics (how do you call it?)

I had an ST4 in red. For a sport tourer it sure got respect when people are a Ducati roll up.  Nothing like desmo valves for intake growl and clackinh of the dry clutch.

I currently commute 120 miles a day on a 70 mpg SV650. V-twin torque and sound!  :)

Here is mine:

NUDA - I think you mean NAK3D bike (no clothes) (what we call half fairing or no fairing bikes) Ducati calls the half fairing model a CR as in 600ss CR or 900ss CR

No problem on the hijack Kelu, I'm as guilty as anyone for doing that to threads. At least this way this thread stays in the limelight, its all about visibility in advertising. Hey maybe I could borrow your girl model friend for a pic with the bike, you know what they say... SEX SELLS.  :D

JimmyBaja,

I can save you some time, I just got back from Romania  :ro2: and shot a few pics of Kelu's photo girl with a bike just like yours for you to use in your advertising.  This should guarantee a quick sale.  I will accept my 2 percent fee once the bike is sold.  I used three different lenses to give different perspective.  You can choose any you like.  I find it amazing what a different camera angle or slightly different perspective can bring to a photo shoot....

Thanks,

GJ
