Stubby or Short Antenna
« on: May 17, 2010, 08:19:45 PM »
I see a lot of people list in their mods "Stubby Antenna". I would like to do this but I don't see much discussion on the topic.
Are they solely for looks? Or do they function ok?
If so which ones are best?
I see them all over ebay but I am skeptical.
I don't listen to the radio a lot. I usually plug in my mp3 player or listen to cds but still like to tune into NPR every now and then.

Thanks

They don't work and are only good for looks if that is what you are into.  The Opel GT antenna is a great one that has the looks and functionality.

Thanks DeepBlueGXP. That confirms my suspicions. I will look into the Opel GT antenna.

Thanks again

Not related to the original thread (why start now) but......I no longer see the list of vendors down the right side of the screen when I'm here!?!?  I also used to be able to see who was active, but that list no longer shows either.  Do I need to adjust some secret setting or something?

And now back to the topic at hand....the stubby antennas don't get much in the way of reception, especially if you are outside of the city.

Moby scroll all the way to the top of the page on the left side of the screen under where it says home and above the google search you will see a red box with a plus or minus.  Given what you are seeing it should be a plus click it and make it a minus, you will see the vendors and find out if GJ is still logged on.

Hey I had half the name right before they changed it.   I get good reception with my Opel antenna, of course I am in a very populated area.

I used to have a stubby one but Joe replaced it with a longer one and I am happy.  Thank you Joe.  Also thanks for the antenna.

I just went to the local ex-pontiac dealer's parts department and they had me one in two days.  Compared to shipping from online sources, I only paid like 2 more dollars.
