Ready to race

At one of the two events one of the guys there summed up the appearance of Streak as a full sized HotWheels car.  :gaah:    Hmmmmmmmm .............................

They are (or were). One has gone to mudflap heaven. The front ones have been ground away quite a bit. When in A/Stock trim, on a rough course in hard transitions or bumpy sweepers, they would grind on the ground. Someday, I am going to fashion some serious wings and attach them at the fender wells to actually control the rocks/pebbles. Besides doing bad things to the paint, the crap that hot Hoosiers pick up takes flight, and a BUNCH of it gets IN the passenger compartment.   :gaah: :cryin: :violin:

18x11 CCW rims and 315/30x18 Hoosiers. The springs are stiffen enough that there has been no fender lip contact. However, the fronts of the plastic inner fender liners are catching hell.

How much did that CCW+hoosier set-up put you back?

And the rubbing issue raises a question...say you got some newer ones fabricated that gave more clearance...would that put you into SSM?

Kenny, gearing is too short in 1st and 2nd as it is. I shift to second in about 45-7 car lengths and 2nd is pretty used up at 55-58 mph.

Vanguard, the answer is CHA CHING !!!!!!!!!! Found a source for very lightly used Hoosiers for cheap, and the pricing of the CCWs was sort of a one off deal with them as they were not able to build the three pieces ones I wanted (parts availability and CNC equipment issues) so that after selling my 18x9 OZs I was in them $1500-$1600.

I have to run a small spacer in the front to clear the calipers and 3/4" spacer in the rear to get the tire away from the inner wheel well sheet metal.

I was just kidding and I was talking for looks.

But maybe change the diff to get the gear ratios in a better place? (probably can'd do it for your class)

Nope, only to other optional ratios, and we didn't have them.

You didn't buckle up while you were in that rocket? I'm sure that car can blow you out literally if you don't wear the seat belt and top down.

Ha, Ha, Ha, HO, Ho, man you said that right on, my one and only little "Buddie"!  Bob's Racer is so quick that it not only parted my hair, but my back was sore from hitting the seat after hitting the accelerator!  Man, it was like driving a jet, but what a rush!  When Bob drove "Miss Red Eagle" right after I returned from my rocket ride, he was complementary as well proclaiming that it felt tight and as new as it did, just coming off the line.  I did appreciate that and I do believe in his off camera comments to me he was impressed with my Tune as well.  If I had his tune, I would probably kill myself and Carol would be looking for a new husband!
