Measuement s for brace
« on: May 11, 2010, 06:31:51 PM »
I'm not sure what could be measued adding a brace unless you test drive and time your laps on a road race course or autocross without the brace and then with it on. I think most people have been happy with adding a brace .  Since I have a 4 point roll bar in my car, it has stiffened the frame alot, I not sure my car would benefit from it.  However .I believe it would be a big plus for car stability. By the way, I bought a TIAL blow off valve and Hp Pro tuner suite from Ricky Rodriguez @ Werks a couple of weeks ago on the internet, Excellent service and answered all my Questions.  I would like to know what engine mods they did to get 415hp out of their GXP.  I have my first season race at the Autobahn in Joilet Illinois on my May 22nd  High Speed Driving Event- Graywolf

The ProBeam ties the rear lower control arms together in a way that a roll cage will/can not. However, the BackBone may be redundant. As for 415hp out of the LNF, I have to assume that the stock turbo goes bye bye.

I believe the stock turbo runs out after 300hp or so

Cobalts are making some serious power with the stock turbo. Of course the turbo may blow up. Most Wester's tuned cars are making 320-330bhp

A lot of the claims of big horsepower come about from "dyno racing", and they are doing it on big dollar racing fuel (110 octane or C16 fuels) rather than pump gas.

plus they are front wheel drive and i "think" they have electric power steering. They have alot less parasitic loss and thats why they have more power and are quicker(generally speaking from what ive read).....sorry about the topic drift

They do have electric power steering, I know I heard of a recall that involved them for that.

so, anybody jack up their car yet to see the deflection rate when transposed under the flop pocket of the new brace?

Ok, ok, I made up some of that.  But, back on topic, and real world testing on these things?

(Kwhale, that was just for you to prove that I can derail a thread BACK on topic as well as derailing one OFF topic.  I learned that from you and SA.)

Hey guys,

I've been in and out or work this week with the flu. I'll try to get something setup to do some testing on what kind of difference these things make. Hopefully we can get it done early next week
