Northeast Mod Meet Review, Pictures, and Thank You's
« on: January 05, 2009, 12:43:16 AM »
After three days of work, play, joking, and eating...the Northeast mod Meet has finally come to an end.  This was one of the most enjoyable weekends in a long time, and many people are to thank.  First off, Dave and Randy from DDMWorks really stepped up to the plate with their professionalism, quality products, and great senses of humor.  Everyone who attended the meet really thanks you two for your dedication and willingness to travel 12 hours for us in New York.  I also need to thank Jeff from SOLO Performance for also driving a long distance to come meet the New York crew and assist on installing exhausts and HF catalytic converters.  Jeff is as much a pleasure in person as he is on the phone to be around.  On Saturday, he even brought his family along to check out the meet.  They were also delightful.  Another thanks to Norm from Norm's Fiberglass, driving from Indiana to attend our meet.  He was a huge help in installing my side skirts and modifying my rear fascia.  Norm was a great guy and it was amazing to put the voice with the face.  At one point, I had Norm installing my side skirts, Jeff installing a new rear section exhaust, Dave working on the caliper upgrade, and Joe working on vertical doors.  Could I ask for a better team than that?  No way!!  I would also like to extend our gratitude to Joe, aka deepbluegxp, for not only traveling from Maryland to attend, but helping to install virtually everything there was.  Joe is extremely knowledgeable and was a huge asset to have helping.  Both Joe and his wife were a pleasure to have at the meet.  Gino, aka vstar, contributed lunch every day from his restaurant, On The Border.  The food was great and saved a lot of cooking!! Lastly, we have to thank John, aka 1sgt and his wife Eileen for letting us use their beautiful house for three days, help prepare food, set up bedding for us, and put up with our addiction.  A few LISSC members prepared homemade food for us.  Miriam, Ivan's wife, made a delicious traditional patadios dinner, as well as flan for dessert.  Paula contributed with some tasty ziti, and Eileen with brownies.  The meet went very well, and we all learned a ton about our Kappas.  Turnout was great, and we even had a few other cars show up to check out the party.  I can't even explain how exciting this weekend was, but I am very appreciative of everyone that helped carry out the idea of a mod meet in NY.

There are so many pictures, so I will post a bunch below.  Enjoy!!

Thanks guys and gals for the awsome pictures.  They describe the fun and excitment shared at the Northeast Mod Meet there in New York state.  Sounds like you all ate well as well.  Can't wait to see the mods down the line.  Your drive home will be a treat for others to behold.

Have fun, drive safe.

I hope Jeff only gave them to people that bought his exhaust, or in your case Spike, 6 of your closest friends.

When Joe first started this at his house it was just the usual group in the begining but by the day of the actual event I believe 21-22 cars showed up, not all to have work done but to watch and learn.   Since then it has grown and I think you will find the same thing happening in Long Island.

YOU HOLD THEM AND THEY WILL COME or something close to that.

And now that some of our best vendors are taking part, I mean what more can you ask for?

Exactly Critter..we can't ask for anything more than this.  A lot of people came that didn't get anything done, just to check it out, see the process of modding, and socializing with new faces.  At any one time, we might have had 10-15 cars there, but I think there was one point when 15 or 20 of us were in the garage and outside hanging...and sitting down for lunch.  Saturday seems to be the most popular day!

From the participants, to the Roadsters, to the pictures, and the overall community of effort extended in this Meet, I would qualify it as one of the best Meets ever held.  Well, that is high praise.  I was not a participant, but after seeing the great pictures and reading the remarks of participants it has to be right up there.  I can only rate the tops for me, and that was because I was able to attend them.  The most meaningful was that first National Meet held in Kansas City that was headed by MomsSol, Kathy.  Thats where I began my love affair with the Solstice.  Then, next was our trip to Nashville for the Second National Meet.  So, I guess I am spoiled, but after seeing all the pictures and seeing the results of the Northeast Mod Meet, it would have to rate right up there!  SkyhighNY, thanks for the lead to extra pictures of the meet, definately adds to our highlight reel!  Congrats to all, on an exceptional Meet!

Thanks GXPinKC, but I will have to give all the credit to Deepbluegxp for the concept of the mod meet and his effort to make this one really great.  Our meet really was awesome, but it would have never happened without the support of everyone, and the motivation from deepblue!!
