GXP Solstice beats 650hp plus vettes
« on: May 23, 2010, 11:55:19 AM »
Yesterday I ran my modified Solstice GXP in a High Speed Driving event at the Autobahn in Joilet IL. Nine turns 1.5mile track. Car ran strong during practice except for blowing off air tube twice [25lbs long lasting boost] I only got one timed run because I had to leave early because of band gig at a large outdoor venue. [Blast, great eye candy, like a mammary festival]  All cars in my class are highly modified race cars -4 corvettes 650hp plus ,1 z-28, nissan 350z ,Porsche 944.  1st run results-Z-28 took 1st, 66 427 corvette 2nd and I got 3rd. The other  3 vettes very close, 350z was about 6-8 sec slower , Porsche was 10sec slower/lap. Sorry,no video   Gray Wolf

Only one timed run, my gosh, think of the possibilities if you had a few other timed runs!  Mighty good company dude!  Man, I would have loved to have seen a video of it.  Great post!

Thank you for the comments, still have some issues to address. Kelu I am running the stock Turbo. I had some over heating 218 degrees running 8 hard constant laps during practice sessions and plan to replace the radiator with race radiator in the future. In the mean time I will run the heater on full blast which keeps it down to 200 degrees. Will also probably put a differential cooler on the car one day. Plan to gut the cat, cheaper than down tube$400 , then adjust tune, Suspension set up outstanding, Running shell 93 octane  with torquo octane booster which brings octane to about 100  Gray wolf

is 218 a problem? Mine's gotten that hot but it went right back down so I didn't think it was a big deal.
