I finally cleared 165 miles today.  The white paint is starting to show the stuff that sticks to car finishes.  Some comes off with cleaner-wax. Some does not. A quick switch to clay cleared a little more.   Any suggestions for all around care? That is, prevention to keeping it all clear all the time?  Of course while still enjoying it?

I'll PM Go-N Def and see what he posts here.  BTW Scanner, did you come to the NASSM?

Oh, I forgot to ask, what is the NASSM? I hope that answers the question about my attendance too.

Scanner,

I have a white (pure) SOL with green stripes. I used Go-N-Def's "system" by hand (no Porter-Cable) and made sure that the paint was super-white and clean before sealing twice... and waxing twice.

Now I have a wash and drive car. Using his system works!!! Many on this list have seen my white car and I have 15000 miles. They are very impressed with how "white" is still is after 4 years and 15000 miles.

Nothing sticks to the paint that a good wash and a little claybar won't take off!!!

Thanks Mike for the link, couldn't have made my hazed/cloudy car look this great without you!!!

I can tell you that 3M Perfect It Professional Auto Body products work extremely well.  The Perfect It Machine Polish and finish with Perfect it Ultra Machine Polish will give you a surface that has NO swirl marks(Not hidden like glazes do) and is safe to use on NEW Paint immediately or OEM Paint.  Any swirl marks created by accident on the prestine surface can then be hidden by a glaze followed by a wax.  The stuff is not cheap and runs about $50 a 32oz bottle but I was able to pickup on Ebay for about $30 each.  The 3M prodcuts work best with a Porter Cable type buffer or in my case I have Cyclo buffer and with the foam pads is real easy and really doesn't require any training to operate and produce a mirror surface without harming the paint by a novice person.
The body shop that did my car after my wreck used this stuff so I bought it for the use on my 7yr old truck as well as the car when I do seal it with wax 45 days later.  Can tell you that the truck surface looks perfect just like new but I also clayed it before I started the machine polish followed by the Ultra machine polish then a glaze and finished with a wax.

I've the yellow which is a dirty white. It hides most road grim and dirt/dust really well. But bug spatter and road tar show up easy on the light color. Just keep a coat of something on the as the blood from the bugs can require some scrubbing to get off.
