Great idea GJ....

Well those are three words you don't often hear together in the same sentence.

If you happen to do the Blue Ridge Parkway there is a great place to get a magnificent photo OP of the road coming toward - do this from MP 451.2 Waterrock Knob Visitor Center.

Here is a picture from top of Waterrock Knob Visitor Center:

There is a better BBQ place in Canton, NC ... O.C.'s 6147 Pigeon Road.  The food is MUCH better than Hawg Wild and the people who work there are much more FUN!  If you go, be sure to ask the owner how he prepares his Armadillo ... (see if he remembers the two SOL drivers he tried to BS but one just added to the story!)

OC's is about a mile from my house. The barbecue is good.

Zip Line, Zip Line, Zip Line!!!!  Any amusement parks near by?  Those are always good.  People can make a day of those coming or going and you can get a group rate.  Same with the Dragon if people want to do that.

Silly Stupid Stuff:
Murder Mystery...always a big hit
Hotel Hallway Bowling
Corn Hole (Bags) Tournament (Love that idea!)
Spork Olympics
Kappa Olympics (we can make that up)
Area stuff like Biltmore, or other museums, a list of area things to do that people can do on their own for a day with a suggested route of fun roads to cruise
Local sporting events (minor league baseball?)
Track/AutoX/Drag Strip (heard a lot of good things about AutoX, I'd like to try it, but it's not as easy to put together as you might think...we got lucky!)
Something fun and lazy where people can gather and be silly.  I like the idea of random outdoor games if the weather is good.  Give out junky awards.  That always goes over well!
Tailgate...have Jeff Bring the Skybar and his grill...we got rained out in Canton!
Firepit!  Fire is always good!
Drinking games...canoe races??  Beer pong??   :barf2:

I'm sure I can think up a ton more, or I can look up a ton more!

To ye faire maiden who writ above, ye every wish is my command.

All of the above are concessions granted today at the yet to be announced lodging.

Would anyone like pony rides?

How about a drive in movie with pop corn and adult beverages served at your door? You don't have to worry about DWI cause you park yer car and walk to yer room at the hotel from the 'drive in movie' unless of course you want to sleep in your car.

And yes, there will be Moonshine but we got to draw the line at NAK3D car serfin in the parkin lot.

My first choice as to lodging and what seems to be the choice, is eager to host us and loved all your ideas.

The sales manager at our venue of choice is a horse person who has been working with broken ribs from being thrown by her mare. We have not talked much because of her injuries. She has waterfall horseback riding contacts if we want that so pony rides are not out of the question.

Thanks to everyone for your input and do keep the suggestions coming as we want this to be a most enjoyable and memorable event for all.

In light of yesterday's events, I would like to nominate sumo wrestling to be included in the event schedule.

Saturdays carnival IZ getting full.

I'll ask my HS Wrestling coach anyhows about this, but I think 'Kees' would insist on the Scottish version.

Would mens rasslin in plaid skirts be ok?

Looks like GND is going to have to go on a champagne diet if he wants to pick up a few pounds to make if fair.
