Interchangability of TCM units
« on: June 30, 2010, 11:24:17 AM »
A forum member who has a TCM cracked by Westers might be sending it to me so I can test it out, however we have are unsure if it will work...

Would anyone have any reason to believe that a TCM from an 07 would NOT work in an 08?  Are the TCM's tied to the ECM by some unique coding?

They are the same, at least on the GXP. They are not tied to the ECM. I am sure Wester is using the same tune on Sky as he did on my GXP.

Vanguard,

Since there are only 3 people with the TCM tuned, it shouldn't be tough to figure out who it is that is going to send it to you.  I am guessing it isn't Spiky since he just got his about a week ago.

As far as I know, no one has tried it.  Prior to shipping, we oh, wait, I mean you and the guy shipping it to you, should confirm that the servno's are the same.

TCM on mine is 24239785.  That is step one.

Here's the Million Dollar Question:  Can you modify the TCM and stay in Street Prepared or does that push the car into Mod?
