Stumble Under WOT (Fixed)
« on: July 01, 2010, 07:11:36 PM »
Started having problem a week ago. Car would miss when at WOT but run fine as long as I did not try to accelerate to heavily. Would not set a code but the check engine light would flash and when light was flashing car would miss profusely. Thought maybe cat was plugging so replaced with stock cat but no improvement. Finally got it to set code by hard acceleration. Codes shown were PO300 PO301 and PO304 which are miss codes for corresponding cylinders and the 300 is random miss. Plugs looked fine and did switch coil packs around to test. Finally gave up and took to dealer. Cause of miss was two bad coil packs. Dealer also replaced all 4 plugs. Problem could only be found by having proper diagnostic equipment. Hope this helps someone someday.

did you put the coils back in the original position when you took it back to the dealer?   I'm interested to know if it was coil pack for 1 and 4 as it corresponded to your CEL codes.
