George whatta hell man.

in your drag you use 4th gear until what rpm?
My trap speed is 102 or 104 mph so around 4800rpm-4900rpm (according to this http://golenengineservice.com/calc/calcrpm.htm)

with a tune, our 4th gear has a lot of power and i believe it is an advantage to be more time in 4th gear, rather than just be in 4th just for a while
if you go with 275, you will get a little bit of extra weight and more grip which means a bit slowing down on high speed.
Are you serious about this?

I lost all my races in the end of the race, especially in 4th gear because is 1:1 ratio which means less acceleration. Remember that I need highest diameter tire possible so I can finish in 3rd (like Cobalt guys doing low 12s on stock turbo)? Going with 245/40 is in the other direction.
Differences in weight between 245-275 are minimal, like 2-5 lbs, same for contact patch.

where did u find the nitto NT-05? in Europe??
I didn't, I will buy them from US.

Kelu, larger tires may actually slow you down, sure you stay if 3rd gear with more pulling power, but the tires change your ratio and it is a wash.

Critterman: my question was:
- stay on same diameter of the tire, in this case 275-40 is the proper dimensions to match 245-45
- or go smaller with 245-40

This is what I'm trying to find out.

Smaller diameter tire will give you a higher ratio which will put you into 4th sooner going down the track.

My concern would the 8" rims with 275 tires.
Have you looked at 255's?.

Unless you want to recalibrate the ABS you had better make sure front and rear tires have the same rolling radius. Different radii will cause the wheels to rotate at different rates, and the ABS will read that as traction loss.
Go N.A.K.3.D..

Critt: I know sir, 245-40 were my first option but when I sit and calculate I realized this is not good for drag racing, that's why I got interested in 275-40 being same as stocker in diameter.

LatinVenom: From Nitto NT05 those are the only 2 options, yeah, same concern about 275 here, this is what i'm trying to find out here.

BlackSunShine: I didn't understood your statement

Rogue: I will go with 4 identical tires, also will be good for wheel swap after some miles so I will squezze almost everything from all 4.
