Topic: Cumberland Airport Auto-x (Summer Sizzler 2-day event Jul. 24/25)

Had to bail early & didn't get to run today, the wife wasn't feeling good & wasn't interested in staying for the day. I'm home again but VERY CRANKY  right now so I'll post info about Saturday later.

  No pics or video this time, I didn't have a camera mount for the car & none of the 3 worthless bags of atrophy (that includes me) that attended bothered to get any from the sidelines. There are 3 more 2-day auto-x events coming up (Aug,Sept,Oct) & I WILL be attending at least 1 if not 2 of them & I WILL have a camera mount on the car.

Man what a place!!!!!!!!!!! If you want to do auto-x & be able to open it up a bit this is the place! On Sundays they open the course up even more, unfortunately I missed it this time, had to take care of the wife but all is good & I think they will give me credit toward another event day.

Great event & National Road Autosport does a great job. LOTS of fast cars/drivers & LOTS of action as everyone pushes it to the limit. Many cones hit, off courses & several wicked fast spinnouts (including 2kwk4u - I'll let him tell the story) made for an exciting day. Some of the best drivers hit cones, missed cones (off course) & spun out but you get 5 runs min. so sometimes this is what it takes to get a good fast lap. What a great time & great people, I HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT!!! even if you just go for one day.

Jimmy,  I just bought a set of mounts on Amazon, a low and a high mount for $12, I will send you the info if you are intersted.

Yep, I swapped ends in the showcase turn.  Figured out why they call it that Also learned about throttle-off oversteer.  Aside from that run, I had 3 off-course and one GOOD one.  Only wound up 9th of 11 in BSP and 45th of 72 overall.  still eeked out Jimmy and U-238 for quickest Kappa honors, tho

I did a 450 in the showcase turn last year after Larry told me I shouldn't have to lift through there.  Later he said that he said only have to lift a little bit.
