This is without a doubt the largest cruise on the planet. Bring a lawn chair/umbrella/camera/food/hydration and sit your butt along Woodward Avenue that runs from Birmingham, Royal Oak, Ferndale, and Pontiac to watch the hot cars drive by. However, if you really want to see the nice classic/hotrods "cruise" you should consider coming a few days early because that's usually when they do (they park on the actually day of the cruise Saturday the 21st). In fact a lot of folks don't even drive their cars on Saturday anymore because it's gotten so large along with the fact that anyone is allowed to cruise the "cruising cars lanes" too look at cars parked along the route.
Note: There's always lots of po-po’s along the route and Woodward is closed at different times by different cities in the evening so if you're directionally challenged bring a map or GPS. Local citizens/business's hate it; car enthusiasts love it and plan their vacations around it.
BTW, Kappa's will doing a meet/greet/cruise August 19th (Thursday) at Cranbrook, 39221 Woodward (enter off Woodward, come down the hill past the guard gate and turn left into the Cranbrook area parking lot) at 6PM and then cruise from their down at 7PM to the traditional parking lot a few miles away. Also, be aware that even though the Kappa’s start out together they usually get separated along the way because everyone still has to abide by the traffic lights and there will be lots of people sitting along the route watching cars already.
