Some may have missed this thread that I posted August 9th, 2010 and it may be helpful to others in regards to pointing out the good or great Dealerships that you recommend.  So, if you have the time to add to the thread and list the Dealership that you have used in the past that have met the mark of excellance that we all demand, please post for the betterment of the Kappa community. In the timeframe of the thread maybe some on the forum have relocated and might find it useful to be able to secure a good dealership with the help of one who has recieved outstanding service. :buff:

At one time or another we all have probably been bitten by a bad dealership :slap: :donkey: and that is what we need to avoid in the future!  Bring it!!!

Which dealer do you take your 07 GXP?
I've had it with Mine there a bunch of Incompetent bozo's that have no idea what they are doing or how to fix a Solstice GXP.  Takes them a week to fix one thing and then they bust and glue the tab that holds the cable for the hood release and did not tell me they broke it and glued it back on.

I had a minor quibble with Ed Bozarth Chevrolet in North Las Vegas the second time I visited them but other than that they have been outstanding! I've probably been there 8 or 9 times now.

Van Buuren GMC/Pontiac

They have always been great with my car, and it is very modded.  The service manager is Jeff, and he is a very nice guy.  Never had an issue there.

tazz, Miss Red Eagle goes to Roberts Pontiac GMC, Inc. located at 9425 Holmes, Kansas City, Missouri, 816-364- 8520!  Always has been a great dealership!  Carol and I took delivery of "Miss Red Eagle" from this Dealer way back on December 27th, 2006, after placing the order that reached code 1100 status on April 28th, 2006.
Are you sure that's the correct #
Says this # is no longer in service?

tazz, I believe the only GM Dealer left in Kansas City is Galen Boyer GMC-Buick located at 31075 Noland Road, 816-252-9800.  I have never used this dealership as long as we have owned our 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP.  Last time I took the Eagle to get service was when we had gobs of Pontiac-GMC dealers around the area, but that is not the case and longer.

It does not necessarily have to be a Pontiac Dealer but a good Chevy will work.  I need to find a dealership that is in a populated area that has experience working and trouble shooting the Solstice GXP as well as will take care of the customer and your vehicle like it was one a top of the line model.  Mine just doesn't have the experience working on a Solstice and there attention to work detail is non existant.

Did you have a bad experience?  They did have staff turnover but that is fairly normal in that business.  I have only had an oil change and checkover done there recently but all seemed OK.

Agreed...Mike is no longer there and the Solstice mechanics are gone too.  He called me to let me know he was leaving the dealer.  Bummer.  Thanks for turning me on to them Critterman...they treated us well indeed for many years!

The Solstice mechanic left a couple weeks ago...if you were in there before then he may have been the guy that did the work on your car.  If it has been since then...maybe they are ok, who knows.  Last oil change was around the holidays for me and Mike and Cory weren't there...the service guy that I was talking to tried to get me to come back later, but I had already taken the afternoon off to be there so they did the job very grudgingly.  I hope that you have good experiences if you go there...but the guys that I knew on a first name basis aren't there anymore.  :(

tazz, I have some friends that go to Cable-Dahmer Chevrolet Inc. located at 555 W. 103rd street, phone # 816-298-9514!  From what I have heard they are very good.  I take our three vehicles to Christian Brother's Automotive basically for oil change, and simple things.  Great private dealership and very trustworthy and also close to where we live.  If we had a warranty concern we would go to Cable-Dahmer Chevrolet Inc!!!

I really did like Mike and Cory and trusted them. But it also seems to me that Fox was performance car oriented as a whole. So did something change and that was why they left or was it just the normal turnover that occurs at these places. Did Mike give you any hints when he called you?  In setting up the appointment, I called hidls cell by mistake and he told me he left but said the Fox folks could still help me. Unless you know something, I will go back and see.

The dealer replaced my intercooler today.  They said everything else actually checked out fine, so they didn't need to change out the fan.  Since I've never seen the coolant temp go over 206, I'm taking their word for it but will be keeping an eye on the whole system.  It looks good so far and the car is happily back in its garage waiting for me to love it again over the weekend.  Something remarkable did happen though:

I called around 4 to ask if it was ready because I wanted to leave work a little early and pick it up while Tony was still there to tell me exactly what they did.  He told me everything was finished, then asked when I'd be there so he could show me something.  I asked what and he told me they didn't know how, but they'd scratched my passenger side door.  He described the scratch as being about 1/8" long and said it was deep enough that they weren't able to buff it out.

When I got there, he started apologizing as we walked out to see it and said how bad he felt that they'd have to paint my whole door.  He then led me to the driver side door and pointed to a sickle shaped scratch that's about an inch long, apologizing the whole time.  I had to interrupt him twice to tell him I scratched it a year and a half ago before it sank in.  I did offer to let him repaint it anyway, but he declined.

It didn't really hit me until I told a friend about it, but that was really amazing.  Many times I've heard about dealerships denying responsibility for damaging a car or hoping a customer just didn't notice until after they'd left, and I can't be the only one.  The response to this was phenomenal and the only thing they did wrong was provide a wildly inaccurate description of the scratch.

I know I gave them a shout out earlier in this thread, but Tony really earned a new one today.  I really can't say enough good things about him!

That is pretty amazing Reed, when the dealer's tech crunched my fenders right in front of me while I repeatedly tried to get him to not lift the car he actually stood there and told me that the lift wasn't touching the car and the fenders were fine.  It was probably a good thing Illinois doesn't have a concealed carry law that day.

Are you going to be at the MM?  If so do you have some touch up paint because I bet we could fill in the scratch and then buff it out.

Thank you Elff. I try really hard to make sure I am not morally flexible. People who are morally flexible are often just not good people. You would never see someone in a position of caring, say a Doctor, that was morally flexible. It just can't happen. As such, I am glad that you recognize my efforts to be moral.
