Chemist, I have the exact same rear fascia but with it painted deep.  Joe, if you have a picture please post for me.

If not I will post when the weather is warmer.

Joe had to do some cutting away underneath to make it fit over the solo mach exhaust.  the drivers side tailpipe bumped against the fascia.  It is in a place that you can not see.

Grant, you can get it unpainted or painted for a price.  I bought it when Norm said business was slow so I wanted to throw some $ his way.  I am a sucker for a sales pitch.  Hear that other vendors.

Why Thanks Man.... I also think it is a beautiful rear-end myself...... Yes... I installed it along with some help from my son.... I purchased it from someone else who sold his car a week after he had it on.  I drove up to Cincinnati to pick it up and  paid about 300 for it.....

I'd much rather see something along the lines of the GXP-R

I do not care for KS's rendering at all! Too 'fish faced' IMO. Plus, they've combined sharp lines with a the curvaceous overall design.

KYGXP and Chemist, love both of your added rear facia's.  Thanks for posting for the rest of us to see.  I believe you may have some converts, if I may be so bold.  Both are grand.  KYGXP, yours with the dramatic Mean color adds passionate flair, kind of like what Batman would have chosen.  I really like it!  Chemist, yours is very tasteful and the perfect touch of class.  The original is classic and looks great.  It's nice that God gave us the ability to pick and choose.  You both made great choices!

Nope.  Just give Norm a call and let him know you'd like a set and he'll make you one.  He just hasn't added it to his sites product list yet.  Probably too busy knocking out his great stuff.

I bought a HVLP paint gun set and used automotive paint from NAPA mixed to the color for deep (722J) and then clear coated.

This is how we did it.

Go-N Def sanded his ass off, used 320 sand paper to smooth out the facia.  It looked great with the coats of blue shot on it.  Then I shot the clear and the plastic fibers all lifted like it was dragged down a carpet and all the lint collected on it.  This was upsetting.  I let it sit in the hot sun for several hours and wet sanded it smooth again.  Shot two more coats of blue and then 3 coats of clear and it was finished.

Since Deep-GXP is getting ready to do one I recommended to him to sand it smooth, shoot the clear to seal the fibers, wet sand (400 grit) any bumps and then 1000 grit until completely smooth again.  Then shoot the color and clear over top.

How did you keep dirt out of the wet paint and clear?

When I painted my rear spoiler I bought a big plastic drop cloth and created a booth in the corner of the garage.  Took one fan and covered the intake side with a sheet to pump air into the booth and the other blowing air out at the bottom.  turned everything on and using the compressor kicked up any dust that was in the space after sweeping it first and then let the fans run for about two hours before I started.

Other than that it is just amatter of trying to not kick any dust up by the guns air pressure, wind and walking around.  Take it to a different space to sand it and clean it before returning to the other coats.

Either way it's a chore.
