Attending the mod meet is free, assisting is encouraged, but all work done by forum members with "required skill sets" need to be compensated with a donation of a monetary value or product or services.  Not to do so is an abuse of the mod meet and the member(s) performing the work.  We (non-vendors) do not charge shop rates and we enjoy the get togethers and sharing of skills and work.  Please do not take advantage of members.  The old addage is, you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours...

A live feed will be up for the meet

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/smmm8

Some basic guidelines for the meet attendees

  • Drive no faster than 5 miles per hour on my road.  Kids live in the ranch and on my road.  This will keep the dust down.
  • Do not race through the ranch club.  There isn't sidewalks so kids will be on the street during the holiday
  • Look for orange lines when parking at the meet.
  • A White board will be up on the shed, please write what you need done during the meet so volunteers can have somewhere to check to see who needs help.
  • ID tags will be on the table, locate yours and clip it to your sleeve

Yesterday I noticed that the Antelope Trail road sign is missing.  It is frequently taken out by someone driving to fast on the curve.

So, your marker to turn left is now a sign on the right side of the road called "WHITE HORSE ROAD"  This is the road directly across from Antelope Trail.

Is there still a plan for some of us to go to MIR tomorrow night? Need to know if I should put my helmet in the car before I leave for work tomorrow...

Bring your helmet Phil.  Just got off the phone with Joe, decision will be made tomorrow.  It is a race night 6-9 testing, followed by qualification, then racing.  It is not a test and tune night, so it will be more expensive and not many runs.

I'm packing up the computer now, see everyone tomorrow.

Yeah, I was aware that it's a Midnight Madness night, that's why I brought it back up again. Normally you get more runs at them than test and tunes, since the latter is open to so many more types of cars. Friday nights it's street cars only.

I'm sure if we're going as JimmyBaja doesn't have his car here and Kelu had the opportunity to drag in NJ.

Since it's not test and tune, you may onlu get 1 or 2 runs.  That would suck since it's about 50 minute drive and to spend all evening to do 2 runs is almost a waste.

MIR schedule for tomorrow

Quote
Adult Admission: 10.00
Child Admission:     11 & under admitted free
Entry Fees:     Outlaw Drag Radial  -  $75.00
     Super Street (13.00 & Slower)  -  $20.00
     Pro Street (12.99 & Quicker)  -  $20.00
Street Bikes (All Run)  -  $20.00
     Entry Fee includes driver's admission

Event Description:

This series is dedicated to our "STREET ONLY" fans and racers from far and wide; offering a weekly dose of that adrenaline rush you crave, but in a safe and legal environment that's ONLY open to street legal cars and bikes - no race cars.

It's all about the cruise, whether you're speeding down the track pushing the accelerator farther than it's ever been before... or just pimpin' your ride, blastin' the dB's from that rack of 15's in the backseat.

Entering the event is easy!  Just fill out the tech card and proceed to tech (located in staging lanes #10 & #11). A tech official will give your car a brief safety inspection and assign a number to you!  You're now ready to run!

Gates Open:
   5:00 pm
Time Runs:
   6:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Joe, you need to lower the camera about 6-12" and angle it up a little to see outside a little better.  All I could see last night (your time) was people's ass down standing just outside the garage...
