Wow, not much mileage. Definitely have a case there imo. Though who knows if GM will care or listen.

I've never really read much on how long the OEM turbo should last....

So it lasted 4yrs with that sound?
How many miles between when the noise started and until it let go at 52K?

Thank you Autonation of Laurel, MD! They worked with the regional GM rep and we will be replacing the turbo. Total cost will be $3,000; cost to me will be $1,300. Parts are on order and I temporarily have my underpowered car back.

I should read all the threads on here more often.  Disregard my question on fb, Treeman.  Congrats on getting automation and GM to at least partially step up and take care of you on this one.

Since you're sure it's the turbo, you can get a new for about 700 and change it yourself, save some dough.

Uh...no.  I am grateful I got out of warranty coverage.  I will soon have a car with 54,000 miles and a brand, new turbo.  That should suit for a while.

No worries.  My weekends are pretty full with being a first-time homeowner.  I can break away for an autox at some point, though... 'specially if I know a few folks there.  Are Ben, Wade and the rest of the Factory Five Cobra guys still active out there?  Are you still running CDC events?  Others?  Mixed bag?

I have been doing CDC except for an SCCA event this spring at FedEx. That was fun as it was much longer but their events are mostly on Sundays, which don't work for me.

Ben has not run in a few years - at least I have not seen him.  I think he moved with his Ford to track days.  Wade and Larry still come but less so this year for some reason.  I saw Larry at FedEx so maybe he has moved that way.  He was running a Mustang though.  The big change is the FRS/BRS - they have taken the place by storm.

Don't know if you have been watching but there is a real rebellion in Cumberland trying to take back the airfield (that sounds like WWI, doesn't it?).

The Pocono HDPE event was a blast - I'd love to find a way to do more of those.
