so far 27rings, sunruner and I are going

Planning a run between the Great Sacandaga and Lake George region in the Adirondacks this Fall. Two stages of this run, possibly over a 2 day period.
First stage is 61 miles long, 2.5 hours, going thru the Adirondacks. Second stage is 35 miles long, very few straight roads as it winds around the Great Sacandaga, thru the Adirondacks and ending in Lake George on top of a scenic overlook.
Exact dates not set just yet, but most likely end of Sept, early Oct 2010
Starting point is Northville NY on the Great Sacandaga.

2 lane narrow roads, one overlook at Conklin Dam en-route. Restaurants and B&B available in Northville area. Mass Pike, NYSThruway I90, Northway I87
close by, easy access. Local restaurants can accomodate up to 20 at one table. Plenty of parking space at start and finish at my home or at a designated meeting place. Dunkin Donuts nearby! Plenty of evening entertainment for those staying overnite.

Total distance from Northville (start) to Lake George (end) is approx 40 miles. There are 3 paddlewheel steamboats, the Minne-Ha-Ha, Mohican, and the Lac du Saint Sacrement. I swear I didnt make up the first one!

All cruises are 2 hours
Cruise w/lunch $31.50 w/o $18.50 departure at noon
Cruise w/dinner $41.50 w/o $18.50 departure after 6pm

One hour cruises $$11.75 leaves every 1.5 hrs from dock

There is plenty to do in Lake George. There is off street parking and good parking spots on the side roads. I do not recommend parking on the main street as people love to sit on the cars there or have no clue as to how to do parallel parking. I believe they use the bump method
