MASSC Skylands Run - September 25, 2010
« on: September 02, 2010, 09:16:25 AM »
MASSC 5th Annual Skylands Run - Saturday, September 25th, 2010

We will once again cruise the hills and forests of the Skylands Region of Northwest NJ on our annual MASSC Skylands Run.

As on our past runs, we will stop for lunch at the Chatterbox Drive-In, http://www.chatterboxdrivein.com/

and for dinner at the Historic Walpack Inn, http://www.walpackinn.com/

Itinerary:
10:00am - Meet at Holiday Inn Express, 176 Howard Blvd, Mount Arlington, NJ 07856
(For those who may want to arrive early and eat breakfast, there is a Cracker Barrel and a Dunkin Donuts in the shopping mall where the Holiday Inn Express is)

11:00am - Depart Holiday Inn Express

12:00 noon - Arrive at Chatterbox Drive-In for light lunch and photo op.

1:30pm - Depart Chatterbox Drive-In

2:30pm - Arrive Westfall Winery, Montague, NJ

3:30pm - Depart Westfall Winery

5:30pm - Arrive at Walpack Inn for dinner

I have changed the end of the run route a bit this year to make it a little shorter and add solli's favorite road to the route, while keeping in a lot of our favorite roads and stops. (Wouldn't want anyone to get too bored with the event! )

I hope to do a pre-run of the modified route some time in the next weeks, so if you can't make the main event but want to participate in a pre-run let me know and I'll keep you in the loop. (currently looking at Sunday, Sept 4 and sometime the weekend of Sept 18-19 for pre-runs)

Please let me know if you will be attending and if you plan to bring a guest, so we can get a head-count for the dinner reservation.

Ok, put me down as sweep. Do you know when you are doing the pre-run yet? I should probably make myself available for that too :)

I'm going to do a pre-run this Sunday, Sept 5th.  And I will probably do another one the weekend of 18-19 September, but not sure which day yet (Saturday or Sunday).

This weekend is no good for me, keep me updated on the 18-19, but let me know a few days in advance so I can warn them at work that I won't be in.

Can't make the 25th:(  I have to coach a tournament all day.  What a bummer...one of my favorite runs too!

Steve,  I will be doing a pre-run the weekend before (either the 18th or the 19th), to check on road construction and detours and such.  I think Shiny is going to try and come out to do the pre-run with me.  So if you wanted to come for the pre-run with us, you are welcome to join in.

Shiny, how about we plan for Sunday, the 19th, as long as the weather looks good?

I may go into NYC for the Feast of San Gennaro on Saturday the 18th.

OOooooo zeppoles!  Have some for me :)

19th isn't going to work for me after all, Dad & I are going to be installing new garage doors. Do you have the route so it can be downloaded to the Garmins? As long as I have that I should be okay, we haven't lost each other on a run yet!
