Okay, after making this thread, going back and looking at new posts and then going back to new posts yet again, it finally went away. But there is something happening with new posts.

If you read a thread and hit back, it will still be displayed as new,  is anyone else having issues?  This is the first I've heard of this.

(sorry, it's kinda like going to the dealer with a problem, if I can't duplicate it, I can't fix it.  Actually, I can't pinpoint where to start checking the code)

I knew better than to hit the back button and not check. It was happening at 9:53 with Ben L's post on a FS thread. That's the best I can do. It happened over and over again (without using the back button) until I created this thread, went back to new posts, it showed up again, I read it for the umpteenth time, and this time it went away.

Okay, no problem. It's probably nothing but I wanted to at least pin the time down and the post that it happened on. Probably just software gremlins.

On my iPhone and certain computers, when you hit the back button it doesn't update the read/unread markers. I think this is because the browser is simply recalling the page from memory rather than re-downloading it, since hitting the refresh button updates al lthe markers.

Good point. I wasn't using my Droid, though.

And I made special note to NOT hit the back button but use the New Posts button and the post kept appearing.
