New Product! - DDMworks Stainless Steel Brake Lines
« on: September 14, 2010, 05:11:59 PM »
DDMWorks Stainless Steel Brake Lines

Link - http://www.ddmworks.com/solstice/brake/ss_brake_lines.html

We are very happy to be able to offer these to the community, and have worked hard to develop what we think is the best brake line kit out there for the car. To introduce our own brake lines we are also offering these for a limited time for only $93 also!

DDMworks High Performance Brakeline Kits are direct bolt-on replacements for all of the rubber brake lines in the Solstice/Sky/Opel GT brake system. Offering an inexpensive upgrade to the brake system and a firmer brake pedal feel.

In any braking system there is flex - in the pedal, in the caliper, but most of the flex is in the brake hose. Every time you step on your brake pedal, up to 1500 pounds of pressure moves brake fluid from the master cylinder to the caliper. Most of the way, the fluid moves through rigid steel brake lines.

Unfortunately, these steel brake lines cannot complete the journey all the way to the caliper because movement in the line is necessary to connect a non-moving part (the chassis) to a moving part (the brake assembly as attached to the wheel). These connecting brake hoses are made from rubber and nylon. Even with the nylon braiding inside the hose, when that much pressure hits it, it will expand. This expansion, or flex, weakens the braking system, as it is responsible for loss of energy meant for the calipers. The DDMWorks High Performance Brakeline kit replaces the stock nylon and rubber hose with race-bred, street brake lines that are constructed from the finest quality hose, consisting of a PTFE inner hose covered by braided stainless steel. In addition to providing a more responsive and firm brake pedal by eliminating the “spongy” feel that often accompanies stock rubber brake lines, DDMWorks High Performance Brakelines are abrasion and corrosion resistant to stay good looking for a long time to come.

DDMworks High Performance Brakeline Kits are direct bolt-on replacements for all of the rubber brake lines in the Solstice/Sky/ Opl GT brake system. (Four lines are included in each kit). To ensure proper fit and easy installation, hose ends that match the vehicle’s original equipment style are used.

By conforming to all requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 106, DDMworks High Performance Brakelines are U.S. Department of Transportation certified. All DDMworks Brakelines go through a 9-point Quality Assurance testing process that includes measuring tensile strength and the ability to contain line pressure to 3,000 pounds per square inch.

The first batch of these are on sale for only $93 :)

So this is where my stainless steel brake lines went when you were supposed to put them on for me when I got my diamond slotted rotors?!! Hmmm, I might have to wait for next brake pad change for these. Or maybe during the mod meet? Then, how much are they going to be regular price?

These are actually nicer than the previous lines we were selling, so you ended up being better off with waiting a little ;)

The normal price for these is $109 and we can put them on at the open house for you, just let us know!

Bob, you are correct, a good flush with some superblue brake fluid is our favorite with the lines (really easy to tell when you have flushed the whole system with the blue color of the fluid). You can order them on the website, or just give us a call in the morning and we will get them out to you!

Thanks,

Did you use the stock brake lines when hooking them up to the car? If so these lines will work.

If the technician used your stock lines, then they will work. If you can take a pic and send it to me, I can take a look and let you know.

On a similar note, have you guys been working on anything for the rear Calipers?
I'd like to do everything at one.  Big brake kit, stainless lines, new brake pads, rotors and fluid.
