G/J

My situation is different than yours and presents in a different way (after hard throttle, when releasing the gas pedal), but if you are like me, any suggestions at this point are welcomed.  So, it's something to check.

GJ

Mine is a 5 speed and when I release the Gas pedal all at once w/clutch in  It shutters (really rough Idle) like it wants to Cut Out . Is this what yours is doing ?

Found this as a part number on another similar thread on the solstice forum:
12625764 - http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/f59/cel-p0087-fuel-system-pressue-low-55886/ - on gmpartsdirect it is listed at $277 - the dealer quoted me $690 plus 2 hours labor for $960 with tax.

Apparently they need to order a "fuel tube" too?

Bobby, when I had this problem it was just lacking boost. I could get to about 60 but it wouldn't go any faster. Sadly I drove home in the slow lane of the highway :(

Jonymac - glad they somewhat listened to you. I told them to check for that when mine went in. 3 weeks later, quite a few GM customer service calls, a few tears, then a call from my boss ( who they assumed was an attorney) and mine was fixed. At least they gave me 12 mos/ 12k miles of free service to thank me for my "patience and understanding"

So, the dealer called late this afternoon to say she is fixed and that they washed her for me (wince)...  We shall see...  I will pick her up after work tomorrow and see how she fares with the new fuel pump and no new fuel rail...

Glad it worked out JMac, now if the rail fails at least you know it's covered. When mine went it was both, they replaced the pump as it came in first, and it didn't help. I think your Service writer was new to the kappa platform, very few have a clue about our cars. At least the dealer you went to actually has a warranty claims person, that is all they do is submit claims.

I can't remember the code offhand, but had to have my fuel rail replaced almost a year ago.  Limp mode is so slow.  Dealer was great about it, I just hated it took them 2-3 weeks to get the service ticket with the factory taken care of.  2-3 weeks of driving a rental Corsica was no fun.  Anyone know if they replace anything else when they replace this part?  Just want to make sure my GMPP tune didn't get accidentally replaced.

Well, my wife drove me this evening to pick up my girlfriend.  Good wife.  I was very happy - my girlfriend made it home without a CEL!

Krelubot - yes - they wiped my tune during the "troubleshooting" phase even though I told them what the problem was.  I thought they were supposed to replace the fuel lines along with the fuel pump - but there was no evidence of that under the hood or on the ticket, and the tech was gone for the day by the time I got there.

Guess what?  The fuel pump tick tick ticking is back!  I had wondered where it went - now I know - it is an early sign of fuel pump failure I suppose - so I guess the ticking is a good sound.  Now, I need to put my CAI back in and get the tune back on the computer...  Ohhhh Goat!

So funny side note - they indeed washed her - there were water spots all over her and just to help things a bird crapped completely across the back and over the top to the windshield - he must have been eating blueberries too...  How the hell do those birds know when a car has been washed - uncanny really...

I have your tune, and a new Netbook so I don't have to lug around that 30 pound laptop anymore.

They like to look at their reflections before pooping......

Glad its running!  Interesting take on the ticking noise.  Just like a bomb, the problems start when the ticking stops.
