I am trying to find the same connectors used for the heated seats.  There are three or four different connector types.  I am a novice with electrical stuff for cars.  Anybody know where to look?  I don't even know what they are called?  Pin? Fork? Locking?

Tomato Soup?  2kwk4u?  Did somebody already find these?

Thanks for anyone's help!

My guess is you want to extend the 4-wire harnesses between the switches and the rest, no?  I know Joe ordered some from the same place that sold the seat heater kits themselves.

Sorry, I just dismantled the connector pins and spliced/soldered-in longer lengths of wire.

My thought was to make up a bunch of these extentions for all those that are going to be installing.  I am going to be helping one particularly special person with her ass warmers at MMM8 and thought I would get a jump and build the extensions as plug and play so it's easier.  I wish I had done that with mine now that I'm done, but live and learn!  If the company sells the extensions already, then that may be easier, but it doesnt help me use all the extra wire I bought... :)

Talk with Scott (2kwk4u) he just sent me the part numbers from Radio Shack for all the 4-pin connectors for this install. We are going at it this weekend...

Yeah, warm seats before it gets too cold.

Thanks again Scott!!!

Radio shack part #'s 274-234 and 274-224.  They're not THE SAME connectors as used in the kits, though.  Just plain old 4-pin connectors.  The terminals can be a little fussy to crimp, though.  I really believe the better route for most folks would be to buy the 3-foot extensions when they buy the seat heater kits.  It's an option when you order them now.  I think they're five bucks each.

Clarification/disclaimer for SA, GJ, SHiNY and any others:

When CT says "we are going at it this weekend..." he's only referring to his heated seat install.  Gotta be careful with those submariners ;)

As he says, may as well buy the extensions and save money. These are $2.39 each (need 4 per side, 2M + 2F).

Ok.  I was hoping to find the exact connectors to make up the new leads.  From my measurements, the extentions I need to place the switches where I did and route the wires the way I did is about 7 feet.  That leaves enough extra for easy movement of seats and dash (about a foot on either side)

I guess two of the extensions from the company accomplishes the same thing.

Damn.  I was having a creative moment, and now it's spoiled.  :)

SHiNY - buy 4 of these extensions for your MMM8 instal!

TomatoSoup-
Can you explain any stumbling points on dismantleing the existing connectors to reuse?

GJ how about some pictures of the connectors for those of us that haven't got the heaters and don't know what the connectors look like.  I work with a lot of different connectors at work and may be able to point you in the right direction or maybe even get some for you.

Thanks Critter, my bad thanks for fixing it.  Above is yet another accurate version with just a slightly more positive twist.

Seat heaters would be nice. Can you give me any information on where to buy the units? Even though I will be back in the States in August, seat heaters would be nice for the next Winter. I still do not drive over hear, must hitch rides with big vehicles, so I am getting anxious to DRIVE my Solstice and get it all fixed up and ready to go. Currently it has about 500 miles on it but in August, I intend to change all that.
