That makes sense.

This morning they called to say that they have no possible way that they could have done that. I'm going to go in and talk with the service manager (the very same guy who told me no yesterday) and ask to see those sheets. I think that's pretty much the only leg I have to stand on...

I decided to call up GM customer service and I have a case opened up with them. They'll be contacting the dealership now. Hopefully this gets resolved quickly and expeditiously...

After the first time my dealer crunched my car, I got in the habbit of having them walk around the car with me when I drop it off and when I pick it up.

I once had a service manager tell me that a short circuit and an open circuit were he same. I cold not convince him different. I never went back to that dealer.

Went back today to have a chat with the general manager. When I got there, my car was on a drive-up lift. We walked out with the service manager and damn-near every tech that works there. They get a flashlight and show me where the lift points are (duh...) and how their lift couldn't possibly damage my fenders. With the car at this level, I could see scrape marks all the way down the side underneath the door. At this point, I'm thinking they drove my car over a snow birm that had iced up underneath.

This is when I bust out my phone and show them the photo I took the day before they worked on it. When the GM sees the photo, he doesn't say anything. He then shows it to everyone standing around and finally says "there's no way that snow caused this damage. Besides, it's snow and not ice." For those of you who haven't heard about the temperatures in Flagstaff this last week...it was getting down to NEGATIVE TEENS overnight.

The general manager ended by saying that they still stand by their statement that they did not do it. However, there is one final way I can go about this...I needed to call my insurance company and have an adjuster come out and look at my car. If the adjuster decides that the damage happened on their property, the dealership will repair and cover the costs 100%. If the adjuster decides that the damage did not happen there, I take the car back with broken fenders and repair everything on my own coin.

This whole experience is just insane. If and when I buy a new car, I'm buying the shop manual and doing all the work myself.

It all sounds so familiar. When my engine cratered I didn't even consider letting them look at or touch my car. The workshop manual is a pain to navigate but its all there. I even had to buy a POS beater to get to & from work. The satisfaction of knowing all the work was done properly is priceless. F--- dealerships

Update:

GM called yesterday to discuss my case. They said they called the service manager at the dealership and got the story from them. In the end, the GM rep said that they are STANDING BEHIND THE DEALER.

This morning I received an email from an adjuster that had a quote for how much the repairs would cost. That's exactly what I DIDN'T need. I'll be calling my insurance company to find out what they will do. If they come back negatively, the final option is to set up a meeting with the owner of the dealership and maybe change his mind. I was told this weekend, "the service manager is concerned with the bottom line. The owner is concerned with his name on the billboard out front."

If I make my case to him, he may concede...but who knows. I honestly don't have the bones to go to news outlets and rake his name in the mud...

Could you possibly get an Arbitrator involved?
I know this is possible for warranty work that GM and the dealer doesn't want to preform but not sure if this would even be an option in your situation.

Well, the insurance company came back saying that they aren't allowed to place blame on the dealership in these situations. Thanks for wasting my time...

So, in a last ditch effort, I've opened up a complaint with the BBB. We'll see where this leads...

Time to upgrade the replacement and move on. You'll get performance in the long run with less costs and headaches. Just brainstorm all your requirements like emissions and the like. You'll meet your goals with the help of us and we'll be glad to spend your money.

The same thing happened when I was having all my issues with damaged hoods. GM seems less inclined to help the customers than they used to and are siding with the dealerships more and more.

I would suggest contacting a Lawyer.

Fawk that dealership.
Even with all the abuse I do to my jeep, I've never had a problem with warranty work.
at 12,000 miles, after the jeep was on a completely new and non stock suspension, I had the engine completely replaced due to a faulty rear main seal.
at 78,000 miles, with an aftermarket Cat and aftermarket exhaust, I had them replace the header, precats and 4 oxygen sensors, because it had failed.

At this point, I just want them to own up to the fender damage.

Back in late November when I went in to look at the turbo they pulled off my car, my car was up on a lift. Since I've already gone through hell with my fenders being broken, I'm pretty damn sure I would have noticed damage at that point.

After talking with the BBB, they said that the dealership will have to make a written statement of what they are going to do. If that statement says they will not repair the fenders, I'm going to get my car back and leave them with a negative report. If they don't want to spend the $712 to make things right...then screw them.

Unfortunately all your future potential warranty work anywhere may & likely will be dismissed as owner abuse given you will likely be flagged as a problem child. Hopefully thats not true, I much prefer happy hollywood endings over grim reality!
