GM Parts for Kappa cars
« on: November 28, 2010, 07:17:53 PM »
As our resources for online parts dwindle, lets post the links here for the web sites that exist to locate and identify parts.  Lets keep in mind that the web site that is a vendor here is www.ShopGMAccessories.com (old site is www.crateenginedepot.com but still active) and once you know exactly what you need, call him to order.

I want to rate these sites also as to who has detailed parts listing and who shows actual GM part numbers (a plus) so use the code on the bottom of the post.  Add your sites below by posting and one of the moderators or admins will revise this post to add the site after it has been validated.

The problem with GM Parts Giant is they do not list the entire only a partial PN# until you have put in your CC# and agreed to make the purchase.  GM Parts Direct will list the whole PN# but that site doesn't seem to have a Total break down of parts like GM Parts Giant.  Example...When I looked up the turbo and cat assembly GM Parts Giant gave an entire listed for every nut and bolt/part available and Parts Direct does not.
GM Parts Giant vs GM Parts Direct listing.

Agree with Tazz - that make GMpartsgiant a pia, but the prices are competitive and shipping is fairly priced.  They have run out of the valves for the overheat fix now by the way.  They say there is a national backorder.  I was going to buy them but now I think I will ask the dealer to get them under warranty.

Had not gotten to it yet. SCCA, family, work, and dead Sky have been occupying a lot of time.

That it did Bob. What are you doing on here anyway, don't you have a dead Sky to fix?

It's not dead. It's resting.

On a SLIGHTLY more serious note, wiring is done, the four components on the circuit are in place, and today the battery and fenders go back on. I had ever intent of listing out the part numbers for peoples possible future reference, but the above link to the Buick dealership has everything one needs.

I have used Source One (used to be ICS if I recall). They still have some random Solstice/Sky/Opel GT parts floating around, and include the part numbers in their descriptions:
http://www.sourceoneautoparts.com/

I've purchased a couple of items from them without any issues.

Also used GM Parts Direct, but they seem to take forever and a day to get orders processed and out the door.
