Wheel weight database
« on: January 03, 2011, 07:44:50 PM »
I stumbled across a great little site tonight when looking for wheels for the Solstice. It has an Excel spreadsheet that has the weight for a lot of the wheels out there. It doesn't have all that are available in the database but it's a pretty comprehensive list. As of the last update there are 4495 wheels listed.

To give credit where credit is due, the name of the site is wheelweights.net.

I'm looking for a wheel in the 18 lb range John.

For those that don't have Excel or a compatible program on their computer can download a free Excel viewer from Microsoft here.

So, not knowing the OEM manufacturer for our wheels, does anyone know right off what the weight of the stock Solstice alloy wheel is? If so, what is the weight. Thanks.

Well, you are talking about 3 wheels, not one.

Alloy and polished alloy = 25 lbs.
Chromed alloy = 26 lbs.

I'm looking for a wheel in the 18 lb range John.

18 lbs for a Forgestar flow formed 18"x10" wheel.

If you go with a less wide wheel, you'll be around 17lbs or so....
