After about a month of listening, I decided to upgrade both the tweeters and speakers...simply because I am crazy!  The tweeters were a touch bright and I wanted to make some aesthetic changes.  I upgraded to the Hybrid Audio Technologies L1 Pro Ring Radiator Tweeter...it is supposed to be one of the best on the market.  I also am fitting the new L8V2 8" midrange/midbass woofers in the doors, taking the place of the L6's.  I plan on setting the crossovers at 40-3200hz with a 24db slope, and 3200+ with the same slope for the tweeters.  Both the tweeters and the L8's have a wider range of response and can handle a little more power.  I am going to play with the sub as well...seeing what other non-shallow options will fit in there for some more low end punch.  My installer will be playing with imaging as well...hopefully having room to angle the L8's and tweeters a little more on axis.  Saturday is the install date so it is done for the mod meet. Wish us luck!!

That's the model I have, I believe.  I  am having a new one put in because the first module was defective.  It's a very cool security system though.  Controlling the car from my iPhone 4 is awesome and has come in handy.  (locked keys in car and was able to unlock it using phone)

I don't think it affects women the same way it affects you GJ.  And you need to go back to your concellor, you know the missus doesn't like you wearing her clothes.

OK so after a day of tinkering, we ended up doing a few things.  One, we changed the sub from a Memphis flat to a Helix E10W flat woofer.  It was a better one for my particular application.  We removed the Hybrid 6's from the door and came to the conclusion that the 8 inchers were just too big.  They would require glassing and to come out from the door panel.  We thought that it would be too close to my leg.  It was doable, but a lot of work and maybe even too far out.  We upgraded the tweeters to Hybrid Audio Ring Radiators.  They are AMAZING.  We have them on axis in the A pillars and used a Hertz Coaxial in the door.  We are able to get a LOT more midrange and vocals without having to blast the ring radiators.  The sub hits really tight...just missing some deep, deep bass.  That's not because of the sub, but because of the limited space in the stock enclosure.

I am thinking of opening the back of the sub box up by cutting out the rear body panel.  Does anyone know how much more room I can get from doing that?  If I can get enough room, we can fiberglass in an enclosure and use a larger 10 inch sub, or maybe even a 12.

I will have for sale the Hybrid L6 midbass speakers and Memphis flat 10" subwoofer.  This is not because they are bad...they are both kick ass, but not perfect for my particular application.

I think maybe you need to amend your signature line to an "audio immune disease."  How many audio systems have you put in your car now?  It's got to be getting close to the number of exhaust systems by now. :poke:

HA HA It takes a lot of trial and error to get it right...especially in this car.  The last thing to do is actually cut the sub enclosure deeper, fiberglass in a bigger enclosure, and add a more potent woofer that can utilize more air space!  After that, all done.  Front stage sounds great for a convertible.

Could you send me some to goingsolo2@hotmail.com

We would only be doing the passenger side.  The driver side already has an amp rack built behind it.  It would be much appreciated.

I opened mine up and put a 10" in there.  Pics here:

How does the 10 sound with the bigger enclosure?  Any idea ho much more room you got by opening up the sub enclosure?

Thanks IBDRINKIN for the email...very helpful!
