I don't know, havn't talked to Dave in a while, I figure he was busy fixing your wrec. Sorry, bad use of words.
Maybe he'll chime in, if not I'll give him a call... trying not to nag him, I know there has been alot of hold up getting the right pistons/rods and they have been very busy.

Update

The holdup is no one seems to be interested in producing performance parts for the 2.4L N/A motor. Not enough demand I guess, since most of the performance mods are usually done to turbo motors.
"F" K1!!!  :mad:  they've done nothing but waste time giving Dave the runarround and the same goes for Diamond Racing.

Word to the wise, if you plan on upgrading your motor start off with one that companies have parts readily available for - do your homework.

Jimmy, perhaps Dave can sleeve it to a 2.0 and drop in the 2.0 performance pistons.

Mods: Lose the chicklets, VentureShield, Dual horns, AfterShock spoiler, Weathershield cover, Lil Chromies, Red calipers with black Solstice stickers, Opel GT antenna and Solo GXP-RCD exhaust with a Solo hi-flow cat!

I have talked with Dave about ordering a set of rods and pistons for the future.  I would be willing to go in with a group to buy them now if this is what it is going to take to get them.

....and Eagle made my set (from (BoostedSol/Yamatr)'s build).  They're not very light for being forged though.

That's what we all thought. Doesn't appear to be the case. Looks like they are special order and no one wants to do the set up for a single set.

Carillo are almost $900 just for a set of rods so they weren't previously considered. Not sure if they would be available or not.

Joe, not sure if sleaving for 2.0 liter is the way to go either. That would be almost a half litre less displacement plus the added cost. I'll just go back with stock parts if I have to.

I can have Carillo rods in just a couple days, and the custom pistons from Wiseco have been sitting here on the shelf for a long time now. We keep contacting K1 and keep hearing that it will be a couple more weeks. Then call back and hear that it will be a couple more weeks, not sure what is going on up there.

We have done about 10 engines now with the Carillo rods and they are the correct length for the LE5 and the LNF and fit like champs, the only reason we did not go with them before is that the K1 rods are less then half the cost, but if you can't get them, it really doesn't matter I guess ;)

I got my set of Carrillo rods for $720 from Werks ($800 regular price at the time plus 10% discount for their 2010 Winter sale). Wow, I just checked their site and they are $964 now.

Talked with Dave today & Carillo will now be the choice. Sometimes  you just gotta  do what tou gotta  do. At least I won't ever have to worry about rod failure.

It's strange, because it seems that not too long ago it was the 2.4's with all the aftermarket parts and the LNF was hard to find parts for because it was "new and different" with the DI. Now it's flipped?

Yes, I saw the Crower rods but they were upwards of $800. Might as well go with Carillo at that point. I'm pretty sure I can't go wrong with Carillo... I'll be set for that future twin charger set up  :devil:

Not unless they are scored badly or cracked. If I were to go really nuts with horse power then I would need thicker ones but Dave said not needed for my application.
