Wheel Fitment Question
« on: March 16, 2011, 01:40:06 PM »
I am just about ready to change my wheels...I am getting a little bored of the ones on there and decided on the Forgestar CF5.  It is their newest wheel, is lightweight, looks fantastic, and has either a semi or deep concave option.  I will be getting them in paino black with a thin red line around the outer ring (like the picture).  I want to run 19" in both the front and back...19x9.5 in front and 19x10 in the rear.  The offsets available are the following:

19x9.5 offsets from +10 to +50
19x10 offsets from +16 to +56
19x11 offsets from +29 to +69
19x12 offsets from +42 to +82

They also can drill in the 5x110 bolt pattern.

My questions are the following:

1. Will I have rubbing issues?
2. What offset would work best on the front and back?
3. What size low profile tires can I run on the front and back?

Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Steve

not sure about Q1.
but play a bit with this

www.willtheyfit.com

front i believe 275/35/19 9.5J ET35
but 12J i don't think they will fit. they will stand out.
and 9.5J for the front i believe will be difficult not to rub.

but that's just an estimation

Also wanted to add that I have the BC Coilovers...so I can raise and lower the car if needed. I am not the best with knowing about wheel sizes, so I need some experts to chime in.

It's nice that you have adjustable coil-overs.

I really think that 9" is the widest that you can go at the rear.....and have no rubbing issues.

once you go wider, then you really need to roll out your fenders, and set your coil-overs to its stiffest.

With my previous 9" OZ wheels with 275/35/18 Nitto NT05 tires, there's a very limited space inside, and also by the rear fender....but no rubbing though.

I have to fit a 10 inch in there or else I can not go with the deep concave which I would like....does anyone have a fender rolling tool if I need one for the mod meet?

Most jurisdictions have a ban on anything that isn't a tractor having exposed tires sticking out of the wheel wells, so even if you could set the thing dead hard so the fenders wouldn't hit the tires, it might well be illegal.

Probably have to flair the fenders. Not sure that would look very nice.

Actually a 9.5" width will get me the deep concave...can I get away with that?  I am running an 18x9 right now with no issues.

Steve #1,
PM SOB.  I think he has 18X10's on his Sky and he races it, so I doubt there are rubbing issues.  Not sure it there are "leagality" issues however...

I believe Bob rolled his fenders, and also lifted his coilovers and set it very  stiff position as well.

what size of tires will you be running?

I think if you run 275s.....with 9.5"....you might barely squeeze it in w/o issues.   But not really sure.

But once you go wider tires........you gotta roll out those fenders...

I'm glad that Forgestar is your choice of wheels.

Don't be surprised if you receive your wheels in 2 weeks ;)

but since you have the thin red stripe customizations....it might be 3 weeks or less

They're very fast!

Steve, What size and make tires do you plan to use?
What offset do the front and rear wheels have?

I think Forgestar said they are using a forty something offset in front and thirty something in rear.  I plan on probably getting Hankook Ventus Evo's (but they're on 8 week backorder).  They are the most affordable and have the best ratings for the money.  I will be calling Tire Rack today to see what they think will fit best.

UPDATE: Tire Rack suggested I use 245/40-19 in front and 275/35-19 in rear.

I asked him about that and he said I might run into rubbing issues and have to roll the fenders...I'd rather not worry about it.

I am looking at Vredestein Ultrak Sessanta tires.
