Underhood liner
« on: April 09, 2011, 06:53:12 AM »
i just washed my GT and i unpinned a pin of the undrehood liner. it is quite easy.
i'm thinking of removing it to clean it and clean th hood underneath it and then putting it back in place.

is it as easy at it seems to remove it?

is it washable?

is there any aesthetical mod i could do to it?

is there anything else i should be aware of so as not to destroy it?

thx

Yes, removing the liner is as easy as pulling the plastic pins out. You may want to replace them afterwards if they become too damaged in the process. Not sure about how to wash the liner; I usually just take a wet towel to it. As far as aethestics, some people have had graphic designs painted on it.

thx SP, i just took it off. pins were as easy as they seemed to be.
i took a wet towel and lightly scrubbed both sides. the side facing the hood, had a fair amount of dust. the hood was factory clean!!
i m just letting it dry now and will put it back on in a couple of hours

One way of removing the clips/pins is to turn as you pull (kind of unscrewing them).  Doesn't ruin the "christmas tree branches" so much that way and means you can likely reuse them.

Arabas,
You can always go to one of the BBs and type in Corrado in the search box, He has painted numerous headliners for people who own Kappas.
