hmmm... guess i got to contact a Hummer dealer to ask for the synchro rings of the H3 transmission. Next week i'm on a business trip in Minneapolis/MN, hopefully i'll have some time to visit some car dealers.

Hummer dealers no longer exist, better make it another GM dealership.

Back to EFR build/Software tuning
In many software tune posts i see that you are referring to a guy called "Vince".

Who is that?

Which Software tuning does he offer?

as Megas already sais, it's Trifecta. unfortunately he s not a supporting vendor of this forum, but many of us have chosen his custom or budget tune, because he is well repsected regarding our engines and it is easy to log and tune even without HPT.
in the link Megas gave you, you will find a lot of info

H&R springs
SOLO HF Cat and Mach Shorty
Dejon Throttle Elbow
Dejon-AEM intake
Front Big Brake upgrade kit with Ferodo pads

Vince used to be able to do things that HPT could not do. But with the latest version of HPT, it can actually do equal or more than Vince can.

....
Tq measurement? More details please?!
....
so here another webpage for non contact torque measurement.
NCT Engineering

I'm going to implement this on the input shaft of the gearbox and if possible at the output shaft of the motor.
As soon as i have the damaged gearbox in hands, the engineering will start. After finished engineering it will take about 3 months till the first test can be done. So i will have the data when the tuner starts to optimize the build :D

This means REALTIME HP measurement.

Thanks for letting me know about Trifecta and HPtuners. I'll have a deep look into it :)

Like a dyno connected to your shaft or gearbox all the time?
How much is one of those?

Yes it's like a dyno connected directly to the output shaft of the motor resp. to the input shaft of the gearbox. With the rpm of the motor and the torque reading you have the hp directly as a reading.

For a single built it's almost unaffordable. Our company is using many sensors from NCT and we have "special" conditions. I'll give you more info as soon as i finished engineering/design. i need to have the costs for the shafts.

It's really a nice toy for a techie ;D

and an even better toy for tuning :)

Yeah, but price is another great aspect of any product.

Based on your words and german "engineering" (to be read as price) it looks like another product only for big dogs.

Kelu, i think that Yps means this is a kinda makeshift instrument. a patent, a prototype he will put up together

Kelu,  :chill:
i'm not doing this realtime measurement to my car to do "money" with a "product".
I'm doing it for the fun of beeing able to do it and because i'm interested in such things.
I'm using my business connections to make something available for myself (maybe for some more people) which normally would be TOTALLY unaffordable.
Such a sensor for torque measurement is definately not cheap. I can get it "cheaper".
So as soon as i have finished the engineering (fully in my own "free time") i will check with our suppliers what the cost will be. Usually i make at least 2 sets of something i develop for myself. I can check what the costs for 2/5/10 sets will be and let you know.

Arabas
it is already patented by NCTE. The only thing i'll do is to adopt their "sensor" to the Aisin gearbox.

Could you stick it on the main driveshaft so you don't have to mess with opening the gearbox to get it in there? would be an easier install and you'd have "wheel" torque.

me neither    :violin:

PS: I didn't take it as an offense :)

@Kenny
will check that idea. Ideally it would be designed like a coupling which you put in between somewhere. I need the gearbox and have a close look at it. The drawings which i have are not detailed enough to say whether it is possible/impossible.

Today i found a supplier for the carbon syncronizers for 4th and 5th gear. He will get the disassembled gearbox for reverse engineering. He is interested even that we have just about 4,000 GT's here in germany. :D

P.S. I have a spare gearbox if it would help you in any way

you might be right with doubting the number of 4,000 GT's

I have this statistcs for germany (last updated October 2010)

It shows official Opel GT approvals per month in germany.
y-axis left        approvals in total
y-axis right      approvals per month
x-axis             month/year

so we had about 4,200 approvals october 2010.
Some went to greece   ;)
Some of them have been parked in the green field by accident  :D
