Well we got back to the shop about 3:30 this morning, Dave and I trading off shifts driving. I was very happy to sleep in my own bed, NOT saying that sleeping with Kelu wasn't awesome...but yeah, it was nice.

Thank you to everyone that made this a great experience for me. I enjoyed meeting all of you and was happy to be able to put faces with the names. Thank you for welcoming into your family and making me feel right at home. I am excited to work for all of you guys and continuing to develop new improvements to make these roadsters awesome! I got to ride with a few of you this weekend and it was awesome!

Thank you Dee for being the kind, amazing, tolerant person that you are! Thank you 1,000 times for those misting water bottles. That was amazing, Dave and I would have died of heatstroke if it wasn't for those.

Joe, thank you so much for hosting us, letting us invade your house/privacy, and letting the whole world into your garage. I hope you have all your tools back! ;) I swear I wasn't trying to steal your flashlight. My next job is to label all of our tools.

GJ, thanks so much for making this weekend a lot of fun for me and helping me out. You are a Probeam Master with excellent karate kid skills.

Elff, thanks for the ride man. Keep that car looking fresh, sorry to hear about the fender!

Kelu, thanks for being my sleeping partner. My girlfriend is still jealous. lol

Shiny, thank you sooooo much for the coffee! You are a Godsend!

Smartin, thanks for being my dancing buddy!

Joe jr, thank you for being a great host and entertaining us the entire weekend!

There are a lot of you to thank and I just want to express how welcomed I felt after this weekend. I can't wait to get back to work tomorrow. (Dave let me have a day of rest) If you guys ever need anything you can always shoot me a PM or an email and I will be sure to get back to you ASAP. Thanks so much!! I will post pics as soon as I get them off my phone.

Wow!!!!   What an amazing, long, fun, crazy, fast weekend.  For those of you who don't know, Jimmy Baha was the first guest to arrive.
Thankyou Jimmy for helping with making the beds in the house and the cabin.
Also, Thankyou sooo much to Gypsy Rose for helping with set up and clean up at meal times and helping me keep my cool.  Rogue and Gypsy also did yard/neighborhood patrol for cigarette butts, YUCK.   :barf2:
Thanks to Dangle for helping with the couple spills we had.
Thanks to SlyBob for bringing and cooking the Canadian bacon, YUM.
Thankyou all for getting Kelu here.  He had a smile on his face every time I saw him.
Thankyou to the New York clan for Saturday nights spaghetti dinner, YUMMY. :urock:
Thanks to everyone who bought raffle tickets.  Hopefully you went home with some items you wanted.  We had enough money left to pay the water and electric bills in the cabin.
And of course I can't forget DDM and JPM for all they do for this event, THANKYOU.
Thankyou GJ for cleaning the cabin and bringing all the laundry up to my house.  Now I was just wondering if you'd make a return trip to do the laundry?  I'd make you lasagna.
If there is anyone I didn't recognize for helping, even in a small way, Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou, Every little bit helps.

This year was by far the best mod meet ever.  I was able to get out and mingle once in a while and I have the sunburn to prove it.  The web cam was very entertaining even my sister in Buffalo got to watch.  And there is nothing I can compare this event to.  We all seem to have grown into a great big family.  I have always been impressed how everyone is willing to pitch in and help each other on their cars.  You guys are the best.

And most of all, Thanks to all of you for the cold air intake.  I absolutely love it.  Joe and GJ got it installed in the sweltering heat Monday.  GJ even wiped down my engine, Thankyou GJ.  I had so much fun driving to work today.  I scared the sh** out of a guy who ran a stop sign going out of the ranch.  I guess he didn't expect me to be on his side and up his a** so quick.  I am sure that he heard me though.  That will teach him to mess with the LDYNRED.  :drive:

I miss you all so much.  Even my dog Angel is showing signs of mod meet withdrawl.
Can't wait to do it again next year.  See you all in Ashville, North Carolina next year. :ghug:

Well, you people crashed my heart and my brain, I'm not an emotional guy by any means but every time when I remember (and I do a lot) I have my eyes in water.

I don't have words to express my feelings about this trip, it was THE best trip which I had in my life and if SMMM9 will happen I will do everything I can to be there again.

I don't want to nominate because this will mean that I have to make it to EVERYBODY and I risk to miss someone and I wouldn't forgive myself for it.

To Fam. Barton and to all people: GOD BLESS YOU and keep you safe and healthy

Decision: We will meet again for sure, I can't loose the opportunity to meet again.
Next time I will try to bring my fiancee because I know she can help a lot the support team in the house who kept everything going and I would like to reserve a spot under/in the cars for helping more than I did now.

Ending my reply here & wiping a couple more tears given by the level of my feelings about this extraordinary experience

Kelu,
Please dont ever come back.  Do you know how hard it will be to top this year?  If you come back next year we will have to get someone to sponsor the event!
Ok, ok, I will write a letter to GM and see if they will throw some cash our way.

Edit: I just got a reply;

I too need to thank Joe, Dee, Joe Jr, and Tim for all that they do to make these meets happen, I don't care what GJ say you guys are a great asset to the Kappa community.

Thanks to Treeman for the ride to and from the meet.

Thanks to Shiny for getting the Veggie platter for lunch that I wouldn't have been able to get until practically after dinner thanks to GJ f'n up the airlines once again.

Thanks to my fellow Misfits (except for that GJ guy, however the gag gift was too funny) there is a lot of things that they do, in secrecy of course, for the good of the meet.

Thanks to JPM Joe and Alex for their help with the seat heater install on Shiny's car.

Thanks Dick W for the Mountain Dew.

Thanks to whoever moved the web cam and didn't tell Joe Jr that it had been moved.

Thanks to Canadia for educating us Americans on who our athletes are or rather aren't.

Thanks to Critter for not just suppervising GJ and myself but also the OJT on the proper way to suck the junk from one's trunk.

No that really is Critter

Still don't believe me because it's hard to see his face?

Thanks to JimmyBaja for not staying up later then GJ or myself, you know how those Virginians are?  If you don't Jimmy is looking for room mates for next year.

Thanks to Kelu for coming and representing the European Kappas.  Too bad you are so far away I would love to see you drag race sometime, wearing a Misfit shirt of course.

Thanks to everyone else that I may have missed mentioning above but helped make the event great.

I would have thanked GJ but it looks like he already thanked himself for me, so thanks for saving me some time there GJ.

First & foremost thank you Joe, Dee, Joe Jr. & Tim for opening up your home with open arms for this event.   :urock:
Thank you so much Dave, Ivy & Mr. Burns (aka Mike) for going out of your way in more ways than one to get the trailer up to take my car back down to DDM for it's new motor  :woohoo:
Thanks to GJ (even though he thanked himself for just about everything) for being such a good sport about the pink gag. I can't take credit as the originator of the idea (I'll never tell who it really was) but I did have an equal hand in the planning & obtaining some of the clothing. I will now & forever on sleep with one eye open and a .45 pistol
Thank you DickW & Randy for some of the smoothest sippin spirits I've had in a while
Thank you SHiNY & Reed for not telling anyone what was really in the large cooler in the back of the Jeep, it is now burried somewhere down past the cabin near the lake...
Ch Ch Ch Ch, Hh Hh Hh Hh...
Thanks Bob once again for the awsome Bacon!!! And thanks to all who brought all of the awsome food for everyone to eat... breakfast casserolls, NY sausages, dogs & coneys, root beer can chickens, spaghetti and on and on and on...
Thank you to whoever put the raffle tickets in for me, that caught me totally off guard.
And thanks to all for the wonderfull memories & great laughfffssss. Joe Jr., I will be back up soon & we will detail the car & laugh some more  ;)

Once again, an amazing mod meet hosted by two fantastic individuals, Joe and Dee!!  I want to extend my thanks also to Joe Jr. who gave up his room for myself and Jocelyn.  This was a generous offer and we both want to thank you for that.  I'd also like to thank GypsyRose and Dee for helping take care of Jocelyn when she got ill.  We both appreciate that!!

It was amazing meeting Kelu both in NYC for our pre-party and at the mod meet.  The flag and CD were very generous gifts and I love the music on it!!!  You are a great person and I hope to see you again very soon in the future!

I want to also thank Joe for helping repair my antenna.  What a pain in the butt job, but Joe showed his welding skills and fixed her up real good!!

Another thanks to DDMWorks for an awesome turbo kit and other goodies.  My car has been "revitalized" and I have fell in love with it all over again.  JPM also gets a shout out for some sick interior work covering my gauge pods and tulip.  It really is a beautiful job!!

Everyone else also gets a shout out for making it both fun and comfortable for Jocelyn, who endured three days of crazy Kappa maniacs and really had a fun time!!

Lastly, thanks to everyone for the swimmies...how did you know Little Mermaid was my favorite???  LOL

Sorry for taking so long but with the exhaustion of the meet and still cleaning up.

SMMM8 was a huge success.  I publicly want to thank Dee for her wonderful support during the meet and for not knowing what she was getting into when I bought the Solstice in 2007.  Our first event was the Plant tour and I was hooked after that.  All Kappa events required us to drive a minimum of one hour to attend and we thought, this stinks, who would drive to our place.  WOW
SMMM8 facts:
1st Mod meet with streaming video
48 cars throughout the weekend. (not counting our 3)
86 people (3 of which were reside in other countries, thanks Bob, Chris, Augustin)
20 cars on the run to the beach and Tiki Bar
4 vendors (JPM, DDM, Solo, Norms Fiberglass)
2.5 kegs drank
23 cases of water (32 pak)
10 cases of gatorade
30 bags of ice
4 large packs of popsicles
4 days of no rain (again :))
Lots of fun and great people

My lovely wife - LDYNRED, sons - Dark Tech and Timmaaaa and I had been preparing for two weeks to get the cabin up to speed cutting grass, cleaning out the leaves and over growth, trimming the paths to house, dock etc.  Turning on the power.  Troubleshooting the cabin garage due to no power.  Checking the cabin for a water leak and making sure there was shampoo, tooth paste, extra tooth brushes, TP etc.  Cleaned out the fridge, spray and sweep/vacuum for spiders.
Dee, thanks for everything you do and cooking of the 8 beer can chickens.

I have some specific thanks and I can't remember all of the great things that happened since the weekend was a blast and a blur.
Thanks to all for the food you brought, the work you did to help each other, the smiles you provides and the family atmosphere that was evident.  There was several first time Kappa Performance forum members and first SMMM.  I received compliments on the people and event and our forum community.  :urock:

Thanks to my neighbor on the left for the use of the cabin
Thanks to my neighbor on the right for letting me borrow the grill and thanks to who ever took it up to my deck.
Thanks to the 3rd neighbor for not cutting the grass at 6am.
Thanks to everyone that contributed to the wonderful gift for Dee and I.  :urock:
JimmyBaja for the extra help on Thursday to finish cleaning the cabin and for your awesome smoked pork.  Thanks for helping me out on DickW's exhaust fix
Pat and Jeff for the leftovers from your party so we didn't have to eat out and for all the help keeping the food organized and the kitchen.  Loved the breakfast casseroles. Love the rims on Rogue (rouge lol).
Excelsior for those brats and dogs.  Sweet looking grill lights
Dick for the Special gifts and drinks.  I still need to get you the part list.  The exhaust and front end took quite a hit from that highway debris.
Sly Bob for the awesome Canadian bacon and cooking it every morning
Elff and Monica for the help in the Kitchen
G8TR for taking pics, great photos.
Islandhopper for the steaks and pillows.
Reed for his strange humor around the web cam  and for the wireless speakers for the raffle
Stunner Lights for their donation of Side Mirror Turn signal indicators
DDM Works for the Devil shirt raffle donations and their support of the meet
JPM Coachworks for their RagTop donations for the raffles and their support for the meet
The NY/NJ crowd for the Italian dinner.
U4EA in Texas for donating the Chromed front grills for an Solstice NA.  CT won them.
Kelu - for your help and coming to the US trusting strangers to take care of you while you were here.  Dee and I miss you already.
Note: I went on a run with Kelu and SA to get water, Gatorade, ice and MAF cleaner and Kelu didn't know were we planning on stopping at an auto parts store.  When we went in you should have seen the look on his face when he realized what it was.  He then went down each isle looking at everything and stated he needed this and that...  I said nope, I have it home for you.  After we left, he said "I can't believe I went to a auto parts store in America and didn't buy anything"   When we got home I gave him some fuse taps, vampire adapters and I can't rem the third thing.
There are many others I owe thanks to, please take this as THANKS

Thanks for the Misfit shirt, I don't know who invented it or paid for it.  It's funny as hell.  BTW, I still have the pink DDM Devil on my windshield.

Mod Meet Photos
I'm setting up FTP accounts where each member will be able to upload their photos to KP and view/download all the pics.  More to follow on this in the coming days.  I have G8TRs and Mr Burn's pics.

Future Event?
Labor Day Weekend 2012 - Friday, August 31 thru Monday, September 3.  Not firm yet.  Thread will not be up until late this year.
I was discussing with the last remaining peeps on Monday on how I can make it better next year.  I'll have a used oven for powder coating.  I pick it up today!!!!

Lost and found:
Excelsior - flashlight/gloves
DDM - detailing stuff
Islandhopper - Saturn glasses and alien glasses
Silver necklace found in my bathroom
Small playmate cooler
Shiny - bag, two Tupperware containers and ice blocks
smartin-red folding chair

A couple of other things I can't recall right now.

oh ya CRS

Thank you Dee and Joe for being awesome again and again and again.

Also I wanna thank everyone for not giving us too much crap about missing dunk tank on Saturday due to me being sick.  I'm all better, but now Lindsay has it even worse than me! (Sinus Infection)

Speaking of Lindsay...  I want to thank you all for making the meet so much fun that even Lindsay didn't get too bored with the car nerd stuff. This was her first meet and she actually had a pretty good time.

SO disappointing....  I went so far as to prepare a special write up for Lindsay and you guys no show.  I could care less if you made it with your little headache, but she could still have come along for the fun!  Heck, I bet she's even more fun when your not around!  Sorry I made out with her while you weren't looking.  She said she was bored.

She is more fun when I'm not around, so I tried to leave her alone most of the meet so she would mingle.

If the dunk tank wasn't delayed so much, I bet she would have gone without me.

First, I want to thank Joe and Dee for starting this event and for continuing to do it over and over, their patience with everyone is amazing and I really appreciate it. Without them starting this event a lot of really good friendships we have because of it may not have ever happen, so thank you very much to both of you.

As for everyone else...

There are so many of you that I know I would forget someone, as really with as little sleep as we get over these weekends, I am always thankful for the pictures so I can try to remember what actually happened :). I really want to thank everyone that came this past weekend though, it is always great to be able to help out and answer questions for everyone.

Shiny - My coffee queen goddess, I love you so much for keeping me going through the weekend with the caramel machiatos (sp?)
GJ - Thanks for being the instigator as always, and also for getting me drinking:) And for showing Rookie a thing or two along the way ;)
Kelu (pronounced - "Kilo" by some members) - Thanks for coming to the states to meet us, you are a great guy, and the videos from the weekend will keep me laughing for some time. Hopefully it was not to bad sleeping with Rookie ;)
Joe Jr. - As always you are always a great help the whole weekend, and also great entertainment at night ;)
Elf - Thanks for being my co-driver while driving.
Spicy - Thanks for keeping your cool on that hot day testing, and the formal wear that you supplied ;)
Critter - Thanks for keeping me in line all weekend.
CT - Thanks for the conversation and I look forward to taking you up on the "tours" we talked about.
Island hopper - Thanks for all of the laughs, I always know when you show up a good time is coming.
Canadia - You had me laughing so hard about the "hummis" from Wawa on Saturday night, thanks.
Miller - thanks for making the trek over to the mod meet so we could find all the little gremlins in the system, and making the return trip later ;)
Ihawk - thanks for being the only girl to go swimming!
Rookie - aka Mr.Burns - Thanks for coming along on the hottest days, being thrown at a bunch of new people, working long hours and not complaining, but instead having a great time.
Big Sal & Lil Sal - Thanks so much for keeping us entertained throughout your entire marathon stereo installation.
Shwartz - Thanks for all of the questions along the way, and yes there is a reason for the brass fittings ;)
Jimmy Baja - Thanks for the water on the stop back and keeping Ivy cool on the way!
Kenny - Thanks for the datalogging, which saved me some time, it was very much appreciated.
Whoever was doing all of the cooking - THANK YOU!!!! It was all terrific

Lastly - Thanks to my wife - Miss Ivy - for putting up with all of this and continuing to go around and do these events.

I know there are people that I am forgetting, and I want to thank everyone that came up and chatted, it really makes going to these events worth it to get a chance to meet all of you face to face. We are already looking forward to the next maryland mod meet.

A couple of my favorite pictures from the weekend:

Thanks Everyone!
