New Stage took place on 26th of August

Here is a video presentation better than words:
Tulcea August 2011 Trailer

New FWD record - 11.4s by same Skoda 2L Turbo direct injection engine - similar to LNF - rebuilt engine with power estimated at 600hp at crank and light weighted (skoda.jpg)

New Diesel record - 12.4s from Seat Ibiza 1.9L engine (ibiza.jpg)

Best RWD street car 60ft: 1.7s from BMW E30 2.5 Turbo

Fastest BMW - 11.1s (bmw.jpg)

I was there to help a bit on organization, here doing rankings for each group and final races (rankings.jpg)

I was there just to test my new unfinished setup doing only 23-25 psi and result were:
Last year with stock turbo on same track:
60ft: 2.05 - ET: 13.5s
This year:
60ft: 2.16s - ET: 13.3s

Harder shifting with the new clutch stopped be to gain a better personal best and I wasn't using flat shift between gears.

I was qualified 4th position and with a lot of luck I got second place, a video from qualification:
Opel Tigra vs Opel KEL

In the final race I wasn't about to push it to max because the other guy was much better (12.7s) and lack of races lately made me to have a HUGE reaction time:
Opel KEL vs BMW

Kelu, it is still possible to attach more than one file or image. I have attached 3 completely useless images below to illustrate. You have to choose "more attachments" under the "browse" file box and simply post your message. No need to "Insert attachment" as before.

That does appear to create issues however for those that want to attach files in the body and not at the bottom of a post as it's difficult to know where the pictures will be seen.

Thanks for your patience in resolving this and the many issues that have arose since the upgrade. Joe is doing what he can but without power at home and the mess left behind by the hurricane it's a difficult time.

Just trying to do my part...

Ahh, I thought that will not be mentioned.

I was to the race during my holiday, I went there just passing by, I wasn't prepared for a race, I had no camera with me, trunk full of clothes from holiday, etc. and I didn't had that Tshirt with me.

Next race I will not forget it for sure.

Elff: Turbo drag racing is turbo drag racing. If you want to be serious, 2 step launch controller and a way to shift it fast (either flat-foot shifting or just a quick hand) The videos were an example of a pumped up 2 step. I think he is running up to ~6k rpm and something like 20psi.  I have a video of my car going down the track, but have not uploaded yet. I will have to upload it for you. I only ran in the 14s due to, no 2 step, stock clutch, and my tires are more commuter tires than track tires. If I get a clutch this winter, and a set of wheels with some drag radials, I hope to improve greatly.

Kelu, 5PSI? sounds like you need to setup up on your 2 steppin ;)

Miller: are you sure that with stock turbo WOT Box can hold more than 5psi on LNF?

No clue. I have a basic understanding of how the two step works, but no idea how to know what is  "too much"

Maybe I will ask around and see if I can get to know when enough is enough on the 2 step.

All kinds of stuff on other forums. Bottom line is you can build boost until EGT's get too hot. Some gain more boost by dropping the timing back and do it further from the fuel cut. All a matter of trial and error. I would not do it w.o HPT hooked up and see how fast the EGT's go up. Many warn against having a cat as it can cause melt down quickly.

This is from a tuner explaining further:

"The timing retard will hold the RPM steady and build boost. The extra fuel that is added in that area keeps the EGT's under control.......

I'm using the Haltech anti lag right now and using -17 degrees of retard and adding 50% fuel, the effect is retarded. The car will hit 30+ psi in a matter of a second or two and keep climbing from there, it's not enough to hold the RPM back. "

EGT is a calculated value in our ECU ;)

Miller comparing with different engines, ecus and turbos might give a pretty big difference than we might achieve.

I am sure it will be. I am just curious if 5PSI is a good value to stop at, or just the tip of the iceberg. All cars have different 2 step boost pressures.

Within the same model/engine , people had values of 2PSI to 30PSI as their stated 2step boost level. However they mentioned the smaller turbos build more than the bigger ones.

Interesting thoughts to ponder......

Search about LNF specifically, if i remember correctly stock engine and stock turbo with WOT Box LC doesn't build more than 5psi.
