Wow! You all are coming from all over! I should start listing states for fun! Guess I better call Bernardi's about dinner!

Gxpinkc - 7 is probably right. If you take 35 to 80, it's 3 hrs to des moines and I'm 4 hrs from des moines. The hotel I picked is right off I 80...if they ever email me back! So that covers the 30 to get around des moines since I'm 30 mins from the hotel. I should see if I can get a party room!

Bring it!  I don't care!  I already have a GTO and a Vette crashing the party!

Stop in Normal, IL where they make the Galant while you're at it!  :)

Bad news/good news, bad it doesn't look like I will be able to do the Bloomington thing, good news is I should be able to do the RT66 Pontiac Starved rock thing, but I reserve the right to be wrong on that one.

Finally...Here is the hotel info!  Book away!!!

Holiday Inn Express
5253 Trompeter Rd
Peru, IL  61354
(815) 224-2500

The rooms are $108/night with our discount and are refundable until 6 PM the day of arrival.  The rate is good for the nights of 8/5 & 8/6.
The rooms must be booked by 7/22 or they will be released.  I can add rooms if the block fills up, but I think this will be ok.

Here is the link to our very own Booking Page:
http://www.hiexpress.com/hotels/us/en/reservation/roomrate?destination=5253+TROMPETER+RD+PERU+ILLINOIS+United+States&hotelCode=vyspe&groupCode=KCC&execute=basic

This hotel is about 5 miles or so from Starved Rock.  If you'd rather skip Starved Rock and the running, you can stay in Pontiac and tour the museums for 2 days. I would recommend this hotel:

Comfort Inn
1821 W Reynolds St
Pontiac, IL 61764
(815) 842-2777

Kayak.com gives a rate of $85/night at the CI.  There is also a Holiday Inn Express for $91/night.

If there are any issues, please post!
Thanks!

I think ICE would frown upon trying to bring those into the country. However, my Mummy makes those every year at Christmas :D

Actually GJ is Italian ;) I could tell you more about him like how his Italian grandmother taught him how to cook really well and he's not allowed to use recipes; however, apparently I'm a blabbermouth so I can't say anything other than GJ is Italian.

Critter - Mum agrees you can't get the same sausage here. The best was from the butcher where my grandmother used to live. My mother is now resolved to using Jimmy Dean. Sad but sometimes you have to work with what you've got.

P.S. I apologize, no matter how I write it I just can't seem to make the previous paragraph sound clean.
