Help with Waterfall Storage Door
« on: June 26, 2011, 04:47:46 PM »
Hi all,

I did a search and came up with a goose egg and was hoping someone here could help?

Also asked for help on the solstice forums and nothing... hope you all can help.

I took off the door on the storage compartment between the seats to have JPM cover it in leather (looks great BTW). When I re-attached it, I made sure ther the white plastic guid (with teeth on it) went into the doohicky properly. Now when I open it or close it, it snaps first, almost like it binds and then goes. It also will not lock.

Any idears?

Thanks

Not sure what you are making reference to the white plastic guide.
I have a GXP 2007 and although I did not take mine off, all I can see is four screws in the back that hold it in place to the compartment.
My suggestion since you had it covered by JPM is to send Joe an e-mail and see what he has to say.

If that white plastic thing is aligned properly, then possibly the plastic is being stressed causing is to deform and thus the door not fitting properly.  There are three screws on the inside of the door and four screws on the inside of the waterfall that can be loosened and adjusted as well.  Make sure the entire back panel that includes the waterfall is aligned properly and all of the tabs are snapped in tight.

Thanks you two! I'll check that tomorrow. I was looking for someone that had removed it and installed it to give me some advice.. all of you are awesome though!

The only things that would affect the door lining up would be the screws on the inside or the plastic panel, as a whole, being stressed to deform.
