Jazz is spoiled.....
« on: July 06, 2011, 05:58:09 PM »
Spoiler came in from Aftershock and installed pretty easily.
No installation instructions were included, but I wonder if they were supposed to.
I am very pleased with how it looks!
I am saving the screws since I assume they are for a more permanent installation if I need it.  Without a template, I hate to go drilling half hazard-ly.
After reading about other's installs, I think I am safe 'sticking' with the tape for now.

I went with the color matching scheme for a more factory look, although the carbon fiber version tempted me at first.

I can recommend Aftershock for these and the marker lights now.

I like that spoiler, any clearance issues with the trunk?

Looks good! Don't think you will have a problem with using the tape only?

Krelubot, your 2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP photo's that you posted were awesome.  Thanks indeed for posting them!  I do hope that the tape will hold, although sometimes it does not and you may eventually need to use the screws you saved.  Anyway, you have one sweet ride for sure.  Great job!!!  :usa:

No clearance problems at all Critterman.  With the trunk fully open there is about 1/2 inch or so clearance between the spoiler and the trunk.  Rudy emailed the directions  that evening, and they are pretty much what I did when it was installed.

On the fence about the tape only, but not sure if I really want to pull it off and drill holes yet.

The 06 trunk opens a bit further than the rest of them.  I have a safety chain on mine to keep it from opening all the way.  Joe is tired of having to paint it.

I have thought of this. What kind of chain do you have? Have you considered a real-in cable or a stainless chain? Do you have photos?

At the moment I have a chain from a hardware store doubled up, only because I am too lazy to cut it.  No picks sorry

With my 2008 I had to extend the bumpers for the trunk lid with a piece of rubber so the trunk lid wouldn't hit the Aftershock spoiler when the trunk lid was opened.

Works well.
Just trying to do my part...
